Media sucks up to Bush, derides Dean
Isn't is sickening the way they play up this capture as if it were some great victory. The dude was ina hole and besides, where is bin Laden? I haven't seen or heard one report where someone actually says, "great, but why are we surrounding this guy with 600 soldiers and letting bin Laden wander around the countryside?" The truth is it's easier to get Hussein. We can't simply put 100,000 troops in Pakistan and there's been no real effort to get more involved in that part of the world. There is simply no long term benefit in the minds of the administration to having a prosperous Afghanistan. They have no oil!!

I also love how the media would like to turn this in to a repudiation of Dean. As if capturing Hussein (something everyone assumed would happen sooner or later) has anything to do with whether we should be spedning billions of dollars fighting and occupying that country. I'm sorry but a guy in a whole isn't 1/10 as threatening to us as say, Kim Jung Il or some crazy mofo in Iran.

Sorry, I had to vent.

1. Couldn't agree more
what the hell does this have to do with Dean? And yet... there at a party I was at last night they were talking about it and him. Like it's some BIG accomplishment. Hell...it was a frikkin forgone conclusion that we could stomp all over Iraq...and hip hip horay we found the leader, but that didn't and doesn't make it morally right.

3. Dean's playing it right. Let them go. Did ANYBODY think we couldn't
capture/kill/bury ANYBODY in Iraq with enough $$$$ & enough American blood. Bomb their camels, their sheep, their children, their food supplies, their electical grid, and their water supplies. Great plan.

Hell, we can get Castro. Bomb 'em.

Dean '04...

2. They tried this in April
Claiming the 'quick victory' was the death knell of the Dean campaign.

They want something definitive and feel this is it. When they see nothing on the ground has changed, it will hopefully give Dean the same boost as before, the boost of being right when a vast number of people were saying otherwise.
