Of course, everyone would be attacking him right now. But, then again, I bet there wouldn't be ten candidates in the race. Who would want to go up with the guy with the perfect message, high poll numbers, etc.

Then again, he'd probably be VP right now if he had been on the ticket.

He wouldn't have let Cheney off the hook in the debates the way Lieberman did, and he might have won a few southern states for Gore. And if it went to a (re)count, he wouldn't have conceded the illegal military votes either.
