Dean says Bush policies threaten nation's ideals
WASHINGTON (AP) — Howard Dean says his campaign is not about who will be the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee but who will protect democracy and the nation's ideals from the Bush administration.
"Democracy itself is at stake in this election," Dean said in Boston. "The extreme right wing has shown nothing but contempt for democracy."

Pointing to a flag on the platform, Dean said, "This flag does not belong to Rush Limbaugh, Jerry Falwell, John Ashcroft, Tom DeLay and Dick Cheney. This flag belongs to us and we want our country."

The former Vermont governor invoked historic events from the Boston Tea Party to the creation of the Bill of Rights in his speech at a rally in Copley Square in downtown Boston.

Bostonians of the Revolutionary War period stood up to tyranny — and can do so again, Dean said.

2. I got to hear the first part before the wind blew away the
sound and with Dean's tie flying in the wind he was talking about "The Boston Tea Party" and the historic significance of those People making a stand for Democracy from another "george"...

4. Just one more soundbite to win the nomination.
Now if he can just add to that "our treasury is being robbed by con-men who will walk away "super rich" at taxpayer expense".
or

"A systematic theft of billions of dollars by a group of "behind the scenes" players that most of America isn't allowed to see."
or

"A slick operation consisting of globalizing corporations costing US jobs and rights that will forever alter the path of the American dream."

7. He pretty much says that every speech.
"...instead he gives tax breaks to Ken Lay and the boys."

Today in Boston he alluded to the fact that ShrubCo was taking OUR money and lining the pockets of a small majority of influential Americans and Corporations.

Good stuff.

9. Since I've heard practically every speech he's given,
it was nice to see something new and effective. Hit Bostonians with their own history and sense of civic pride. Very powerful.

5. This is exactly the reason why he's the guy.
He's the leader of the party and even now hes the true leader of this nation.

Nobody else is confronting the truth like Governor Dean.

I like Clark, but he's got nothing on Dean. Clark's lustre will fade like an image of a old flame because hes just not Dean.

6. Dean can make some very impressive speeches--historical ones.
His Restoration speech is the best example so far.
