Biggest Indictment of the media to date
Tonight on Hardball, Chris Mathews cited a poll in which nearly 50% of Bush's supporters believe that Iraq has WMD's!

When will the media wake up and do it's job? Mathews was very discouraged by those numbers and felt it was a sign of an electorate that may be being mislead.

This is obviously our media's fault as they absolutely REFUSE to call George Dubya Bush a liar. Any time they show campaign footage of Bush where he mentions WMD's, they should alert their viewers to the fact that there were NO WMD's in Iraq. PERIOD. END OF STORY. At some point, stories should have been written and produced on TV about how Bush continues to mention weapons despite the fact that they were not there.

Do you remember the 2000 election when George Dubya Bush kept claiming he was the "moral" choice for President and therefore insinuating that he had better morals than Al Gore? The media gave him a free pass. NOBODY challenged him on his assertion that he was somehow a better person than Al Gore.

This time around their allowing him to get away with not telling the American people the truth about Iraq. They are allowing him to change his rationale for war AFTER the war had ended (Mission Accomplished...right Dubya?) and not challenging it.

When America goes to the polls in six days, 25% of the voting public will believe that Iraq had wmd's and therefore the Iraq War was justified. If the media doesn't hang it's head over that fact, they simply have no shame. This election would be a blowout IF the media was doing it's job.

1. Yes ... I saw that segment of Hardball on Wed. 10/27
Chris Matthews (I wonder what bug bit him? He was one of the ones who defended that invasion and occupation of Iraq tooth and nail against all reason)... last night, however, he seemed to be cleansing his soul from fault or sin and admitting to guilt about how blindly support for the bush invasion/occupation was, how readily and unexamined people in the press accepted bush's words and how much as a result of it they were not doing their jobs ... he did not quite call bush a liar but he let the Reagan boy do it without interrupting him or challenging him and he somehow got Evan Thomas to agree with his newly found position....john fund was of course the piranha in the pack who was still defending bush and his invasion and occupation of Iraq at all cost and against all reason. if Chris Matthews keeps to his newly found faith.. . i think he will be a Kerry supporter (voter)--i was not able to watch the Matthews/Kerry interview last night. i am willing to bet it was an interesting one. Matthew's LISTENING seems to have opened up on Monday in Pennsylvania during the Kerry/Clinton rally, after which he asked Kerry are you able to immediately assume the role of commander-in-chief if you win the elections, to which Kerry gave a most assuredly 'YES I AM' answer.

2. If you watched Tweety's show between January 2003 and April 2003....
you would have seen that he was VERY ANTI-WAR!!!

He just gets aroused by seeing Bush in the flight suit.
