O'Reilly is getting ready to spin his NPR conversation
This afternoon, O'Reilly hung up on NPR during and interview. He is getting ready to talk about how he was ambushed on the totally spinning "No Spin Zone"

Ought to be good for a laugh

2. Make sure you listen to the actual program...
http://freshair.npr.org

click on "Listen to Program" on the left side of the screen. It's interesting. He even says something against Bush and the administration.

3. Expect NPR to lose alot of funding.
O'Reilly is pissed and he'll incite all his dimwitted viewers to rally an organized "call your congressman" campaign to stop funding. I'm about 99.99% of his viewers have never even heard of NPR or much less, listened to it, I assume this because NPR doesn't run NASCAR or WWF events.

4. NPR gets bupkiss from the Fed.
Most of thier money, 99.9%, comes from donations from listeners and corp sponsers.

5. Really? Sources on this?
Do you have links on this? I could really use the info because my dittohead brother is always ranting about publicly funded NPR and I've always thought it was more independent and listener-supported. I need the hard facts though to back me up.

Unfortunately they don't don't tell you what all the "other" piece is. A very small part of it is Federal Funding though. Vanishing little public money actually supports public radio anymore.

6. O'Reilly kept saying,
my money, your money is paying for this and mentioned "funding" comes up in the congress in a few weeks. I'll check out the transcript.

18. O'reilly is the devils...
He is ridiculous and he would never be successful in making NPR lose funding. Besides, most of the funding for NPR comes from listeners.

8. O'Reilly is such a liar
He claimed that NPR got a billion dollars a year in federal funding, and was outraged that in these times of budget deficits this money was going to support a far left wing organization.

He is the classical propagandist. Tells a lie, keeps repeating it, repeating it, repeating it.

9. Yes, he said it,
He'll say and do anything to get his slimy agenda met. He is such a big, whiney fucktard, "oooh, wah wah, 'NPR insulted me'. Is there just anybody on this planet as pathetic and dispicable as this huge boil on the butt of society, oh, nevermind, I forgot about Rush and Hannity.

11. Far Left???????
I only hear bits of NPR broadcast on our local (100% publicly funded TV & Radio network) but based on what I've heard it is not anywhere NEAR a FAR left leaning network.

I've never heard them denounce capitalism or talk about the ownership of the means of production.

They're about as "left wing" as Bill Clinton and our own last "left" PM - ie not very at all

14. My mom just told me O'Reilly is her favorite now
Just talked to my mom last night (I think she called to rub it in about Arnie's win) and when I brought up Rush, she said she barely ever listens to him anymore and that O'Reilly is her favorite now. And she likes Hannity too.

Talk about twisting the knife.
HELP!!!!

15. CPB gets less than $350 Million, I recall
That funds NPR and PBS. It used to be more than twice that amount. Gingerich did a hack job on their federal subsidiy.

22. Billions?

LMAO...The budget for public tv is probably not even 1/5 of 1% of the budget. It's nothing. And like has already been mentioned, NPR gets their money from listeners, corporations and foundations.

I do have a problem when corporations start putting money into any organization, but so far NPR has been decent, certainly not far left. The only thing they DO DO for the left is allow them a forum to speak.

12. It's Pledge Time At NPR...
and Terry Gross just earned them a little contribution from me.

"All Things Considered" travel mug: pledge of $50
"Morning Edition" tote bag: pledge of $100
Hearing "Fresh Air" reduce O'Reilly to a spoiled schoolboy tantrum: priceless.

16. Creeping out of their holes.
These A.M. Radio and Fox shock jocks all try to legitimize themselves by venturing into mainstream media. Once they leave their comfort zones of hatred, they are always surprised at what they find out in the open. They are like deer in the headlights. Michael Savage, Rush, and O'Reilly can't survive unless can dominate the discussion. Agree with me, or get cut off. What a crybaby!

19. The Creepy SOB got Terry to Mess Up
I listened to the interview, he was a complte ass wipe as usual, but towards the end with him ranting something like "were you this tough on Al Franken? Were you this tough on Al Franken?" Terry Gross, the best in the buisiness, screwed up and answered, "no".

20. I just listened to the conversation. This is a publicity stunt!
I listened to the interview and I bet you that O'Reilly planned to "get mad" and walk out before hand. This creates a contraversy where he can victimize himself to attrack attention to his books. Contraversy sells books and books sales equals money in his pocket.

BTW: He was not getting attacked. He was being asked to clarify the attacks from Al Franken which is fine. If I was being attacked unfairly I wuld love to get the questions so I could give my side of the story. But O'reilly cannot give an excuse for his lies so he lies some more and acts like he is being attacked. What a moron!

He sure made himself look like a fool with that claim about the NPR funding. What a self righteous fool he is. When I see him I think of some old boozer who hangs around the corner saloon all day long.
