Meg Whitman speaks out against governor (Jerry Brown), Obama

Republican Meg Whitman, stepping back into the political limelight after her failed, $180 million bid for governor, took her first public jabs at Gov. Jerry Brown and Democratic legislators Wednesday - calling their budget a gimmick-filled plan that lacks "real reform."

"The good news is the people of California are going to avoid a big tax increase," the former eBay CEO told Fox News' Neil Cavuto, referring to the $86 billion budget approved Tuesday by the Legislature.

Whitman dismissed the budget passed by Democrats without Republican support and backed by Brown as "a political budget without a road map to real reform - like we know California really needs."

Although the billionaire business leader has not expressed any specific interest in running again for political office, Whitman sounded very much like a candidate when she said the Democrats' budget plan "relies on unanticipated revenue."
