They are STILL doing predatory lending.

We have a nice safe REAL 30 year mortgage with them, no prepayment fee, very low monthly payment,
fixed interest rate, and we can afford to pay it down early and save a ton in interest.
Just got a letter from them, trying to tempt us into a re-fi
to a 15 year mortgage,
at lower interest rate,
slightly higher monthly payments,
with their emphasis on how much we can save over time in interest.

The catch??????
4,000 in "fees"
and
variable interest rate !!!!!


HURRY !!!! CALL NOW !!!! Plastered all over both sides of the paper.

There are not enuff words to say how much I hate these guys.

5. I have a $200,000 mortgage with them and my house is now

worth $400,000. They called about 3 months ago and asked if I wanted to re-fi and take out most of my equity with an interest only loan for 30 years. I said I'm 66 yrs old; why in the Hell would I want an interest only loan for any reason? I'm going to refinance, but with a different lender - I can't stand Countrywide either. My Marine nephew bought a house a little over 3 yrs ago and they were his lender. His house was $400,000 with an interest only loan for 30 yrs; his house is now worth under $200,000, so at the end of 30 yrs he will owe $400,000. They won't work with him at all on a loan modification, etc. They are total assholes and should be put out of business.

6. Within a month (or two, dont remember) Countrywide is going to cease

BofA is swallowing them up, and ending Countrywide's existence as a separate entity.

Until then Countrywide is trying to stuff as many rewritten loans into their portfolio as they can.
