From slightly over 1000 members to over 25,000 members in only a year's time, Tree Nation is growing. It's goal is to plant 8 million trees in the shape of a heart in the heart of Niger, the poorest country in the world that is suffering from desertification and poverty. Over 11,000 trees have been planted so far but there is a long way to go. I am proud to report that some of the trees planted are in response to my petition there asking people to pledge to become climate messengers.

It is so gratifying to see people from all over the world coming together to sign the petition and pledge to do all they can to keep our world from reaching the tipping point. To some these trees may not mean much, but to the people of Niger they mean the world, they mean hope, and they mean life. So if you are looking for a good organization to work with to bring sustainability to a part of the world that desperately needs it, Tree Nation is a great place to start.
