5. I am SICK AND TIRED of people pointing the finger of blame at
DISHWASHING. I wash my dishes once or twice a day by hand. I don't use over two gallons each time. I fill the sink with water from the hot tap before it even gets hot, and it's hot in time for rinsing. And I shower only two or three times a week, and am not allergic to sponge baths if I get a little perspiration.

Millions of homes in the greater Los Angeles area waste hundreds of gallons per home EACH AND EVERY DAY by insisting on watering their lawns and water-hogging ornamental landscaping.

We know where the problem lies, and it isn't with people like me.

6. I wish they hadn't put that in the headline too
since it's dwarfed by things like golf courses and lawns. They do a better job in the article itself (don't leave the faucet running - seems like a no-brainer).

7. I read the article. WHO THE FUCK USES 20 GALLONS, let alone 40,
to handwash some dishes?????? I no longer feel any guilt whatsoever for my steadfast refusal to use the ELECTRIC, manufactured and shipped, mechanical device called a dishwasher. I wish they didn't put them in apartments.

I dont' think I've ever used more than 5 or MAYBE 10 gallons washing up. Maybe at Christmas a few years ago when I fixed a big turkey dinner and had to have two separate washing sessions to clean all the dishes (and in that house I HAD no mechanical dishwasher).

8. I have no idea. I handwash because my water is so hard
my dishwasher hardly works (end up rewashing) plus having a full-size dishwasher for my little apt is silly - to do a full load I'd have to wait a week or something.

It has to be people running the water hard and washing dishes one at a time?
