London - Police arrested an Iraq war protester on Monday who had been camped outside the Houses of Parliament in London for nearly three years, and took down his big display of protest banners.

Police investigating a suspicious car outside the main entrance to parliament arrested Brian Haw, 55, whose one-man, non-stop peace camp was situated in Parliament Square across the street.

Haw was taken to a police station, charged with assault on police and failing to leave a designated security cordon area, then released on bail.

1. That's a disgrace

The fact is he's become an embarassment to MPs, particular Blair who I understand hasn't used the main entrance to Parliament for months.

This "designated security cordon area" mentioned in the article is bull. The area where Haw is situated is known as Parliament Square and has been the traditional gathering point for protests against the Government for hundreds of years. It's a disgrace and a slap in the face to peaceful protestors the world over.
