this is terrifying. If real, it was written by a bunch of Authoritarian asses who are wholly opposed to America.

6. Or a clever facsimile....
The REAL Brady Gun Control Campaign site:
http://www.bradycampaign.org

Wild and outrageous "evidence" brought to you by:
http://members.aol.com/USSportmen
Looks more like a right winger site to me, but what do I know?

Michael Moore's (Parody) take on the subject:
http://www.handguncontrolinc.org

Phsyco site supporting guns for everyone
http://www.handguncontrol.net

Now that we have THAT out of our system people. Shall we move on to a new thread?

Namely, the astroturf backyard... still, I think you're exagerating.

4. Skippy, it's guns, violence and murder they oppose.....
Granted this is entirely over the top, but it's someones opinion at the worst and a right wing smear at the other worst. Last week or so we had some tirade attributed to John Glen that was sucked up out of Rush Limbaugh's rants practically word for word.

I wouldn't get overly excited about it.

DEMs are probably glad these days that just about any one can get a gun. We'll all have to learn to hunt and gather again once the country falls on its ass and the infrastructure self destructs.

9. No handguns take clips
They can go right ahead and ban a handgun that takes clips loaded with bullets

10. Smith & Wesson 625 and 325PD
.45 ACP revolvers. Need full or half moon clips to hold the bullets in the chamber.

but only a gun nut would know the difference between a clip and a magazine.

And some guns have magazines that take clips

12. true very few do. But they completely word the bill wrong
Just shows they have no idea what they are talking about. They think they are banning something but in actuality they are banning something completely different.

Sounds a little too "Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion" to be real. Especially the whole "Confidential Information for use by Lobbyists or SeniorOfficers ONLY!" bit. Any corroboration?

13. Gun Free School Zone
Edited on Thu Mar-17-05 12:47 AM by VelvetMonkeyWrench
>"Ban on possession of a firearm within a home located within 1000 feet of a schoolyard"

I know for fact the Gun Free School Zone Act DID this (GFSZ was subsequently struck down by SCOTUS). GFSZ made NO exceptions for homes, or innocent "pass through" transport. It was a VERY ineptly worded piece of legislation. Technically, GFSZ made it a felony for me to drive out of my place to the range since there was a school at the beginning of the dead end street my house is on. I would have had to park about a mile away, trek through a forest, go across several other people's lawns, and literally swim a canal to get a gun away from my place "legally" under GFSZ.

--edit--
GFSZ had no "site grandfathering" language either, that would have let me off the hook.

16. Good thing, I live ~125m from a school
Oh, I'm certainly not saying that none of what's in there is real or desired by the anti-gun lobby (I remember the anti-military-caliber idea being floated around, talk about ridiculous); rather that it looks like somebody with a rather large ax to grind took all the gun control legislation that's been proposed, added a bunch more outrageous stuff, and put it all together as the "agenda" of the enemy.

How's that for a source?

THESE DOCUMENTS ARE PROBABLY FRAUDULENT. DO NOT USE.

<I now doubt that these documents are authentic.
They were given to me around the timestamp indicated
by a person in Palo Alto, California who used the
name Francis Hamada.

These documents may have been part of a deliberate
disinformation campaign, or an attempt to discredit
the validity of pro-rights information. This finding
is based on a detailed physical analysis of my copy
of the document and other circumstances surrounding
the acquisition of it.

Therefore please do not use this information as
authoritative! I include it here as a matter of
historical interest and as a possible example of
a counter-intelligence operation of the anti-rights
side. -- Jeff C.>
Listen to the big boys now, skippy.

15. This Jeff Chan...
GREAT NEWS: Presidential candidate Alan Keyes confirmed to speak. Possibly
the most dynamic speaker on the political scene today. Senator Bob Dole's
campaign has expressed interest, but will wait to see what his schedule is
closer to the event. Senator Phil Gramm still a possibility. Liddy still
not confirmed.

I agree they are fake without having to consult "big boy" Chan.

Unfortunately, the site at the link in question doesn't seem to contain the text quoted in the Google search results lists, and Google offers no cached previous version to check. The Francis Hamada in question could be the minor film maker in California; he could be the dentist in Hawaii; he could be someone else.

But don't be talking to me about Mr. Chan! The point was of course that even a classic rkba-head considers the material bogus.

Flamebait and fraudulent.

The site that hosts it is barely running (broken links to images, links to affiliate programs that haven't existed for some time) and research indicates this Draft memo is bogus.

Not to mention the trolls it drew :eyes:
