Israeli forces pull back
GAZA (Reuters) - Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh called for a halt to fighting on Saturday hours after Israel, whose forces have killed over 40 Palestinians in recent days, withdrew from most of the northern Gaza Strip.

---

Haniyeh's statement called for restarting negotiations, which had been led by Egyptian mediators over the fate of Corporal Gilad Shalit, whose capture by militants in a cross-border raid on June 25 triggered the Israeli offensive.

---

Israeli government officials said in Jerusalem the Jewish state would only agree to a cease-fire once Shalit was returned and the rocket fire ceased.

---

Rocket fire has not stopped, however.

1. Will Israel agree to stop blowing up people in Gaza and the West Bank?
Why is Israel's targeted assasination program never mentioned? "Rocket fire has not stopped", yes well I guess that there is only one side to that story, right?

A ceasefire has to be just that: both sides agree to stop trying to kill each other.
