Pro-Israel media: Bloggers join media war

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3663679,00.html

Some 1,000 new immigrants and foreign-language-speaking Jews volunteer to army of bloggers set up by Absorption Ministry and Foreign Ministry with the stated objective of flooding blogs with pro-Israel opinions

-snip-

Sharuz-Shalicar is one of the front-line soldiers in the Ministry of Absorption's new "army of bloggers" that was recently established in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry's public relations department following Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip.

The Absorption Ministry is recruiting new immigrants and Jews living abroad who have access to a computer and who speak a second language to a volunteer effort to improve public relations for Israel on the internet. The campaign was launched last week.

-snip-

The Absorption Ministry forwarded the volunteers' details to the Foreign Ministry, which briefed them via email and provided up-to-date material on the situation, including video clips that could help them in the field.

While the Absorption Ministry is tasked with recruitment, the Foreign Ministry will be responsible for directing the volunteers online. Each time the ministry identifies an anti-Israel trend on a foreign-language blog, news site, or other website, it will immediately put out a message to the volunteers to flood the site with pro-Israel opinions.

1. Better a media war than a real war!
Maybe this should catch on! Warring countries could send their troops out to fight a War of Words with rival bloggers on the internet, instead of onto the battlefield. Don't bomb your enemy; just swear at them online. You never know, whoever invented this could get the Nobel Peace Prize for saving the world from getting blown up.

2. How does one blog to defend a massacre?
Edited on Fri Jan-30-09 01:16 PM by peacetalksforall
I am tired of two things in particular -

. telling us "whaaaaaasssss - they started it".
. if we don't support Israel in this we are anti-Semetic.

We know their motives and I am one who does not appreciate them.

I'm not sure who their target audience is - who they want to convert or receive praise from. I hope I never see any more Dem Congressperson supporting the blogs and the Israeli action.

Even though there is falwed cease fire of a sorts I can't stop thinking about the Gazans, the phosphorus, The women, the children, the food, medical supplies, the prison they are in - and them I jump to Lebanon. I haven't gotten over that. Fewer deaths - but look at what was done to their infrastructure. I am one who values infrastrusture.

3. If you value infrastructure
or human lives

then you will decry those whose efforts are to crush both,

Hamas pokes with a big stick, knowing that their people will suffer, die, and their infrastrcture will be ruined,

How easy it would be to simply stop the terrorism and make peace.

But they refuse.

4. There it is - the implication that Hamas is always leading. It has been written many times
Edited on Fri Jan-30-09 04:44 PM by peacetalksforall
from many incidents what preceded each attack. Israel has a constant major wall constructed of all kinds and forms of might - gifted from the U.S. and other sources against a tiny portion of refugee land that many major writers refer to as an open air prison, mostly surrounded by Israel and the water - with Israel inching closer and closer and obviously resentful of the water these refugees need and smuggling to defend themselves.

Hamas is not innocent, but I'm sure they would like to live for their children and families and to pursue education on enterprise just like other human beings.

But this time - the day after Christmas - this time the chronology went from and eye for an eye - to - a thousand plus eyes for an eye. Who dreamed up a major invasion and takeover? Copycat from Iraq?

No - this was Israel and the leaders of Congress following their pursuit to own it all and push them out - that is the similarity to Iraq.

No matter how crimainal Hamas is with stones, body bombs, and missiles - it is NOTHING compared to Israel. No matter how much land Israel wants, plus earth resources - is is GRAND compared to the refugees of the Gaza Strip.

Equations. Ratios. Israel is wrong. Starting with the slaughter of women and children of a squashed and vertical social structure. Israel decimated. It is shameful.
