IDF: Global Jihad on flotilla
Dozens of passengers who were aboard the Mavi Marmara Turkish passenger ship are suspected of having connections with Global Jihad-affiliated terrorist organizations, defense officials said Tuesday, amid growing concerns that Turkey will dispatch Navy warships to accompany a future flotilla to the Gaza Strip.

According to the defense officials, the IDF identified a group of about 100 passengers on the ship that could have terrorist connections with Global Jihad affiliated groups.

During its searches of the Mavi Marmara on Tuesday, the military also discovered a cache of bulletproof vests, night-vision goggles as well as gas masks. On Monday morning, nine international activists were killed during the Navy’s takeover of the Mavi Marmara which was trying to break the Israel-imposed sea blockade on the Gaza Strip.

The group of over 50 passengers with possible terror connections have refused to identify themselves and were not carrying passports. Many of them were however carrying envelopes packed with thousands of dollars in cash.

The military is working to identify the passengers and is looking into the possibility that some of them have ties with Global Jihad-affiliated terror organizations and that some were involved in past global terror attacks. Some of them are apparently known Islamic extremists.

“This is the group that was behind the violent lynch against the naval commandos,” a defense official said. “They came on board the ship prepared and after they had trained for the expected Navy takeover.”

Surprise, surprise! The "humanitarian aid" cover story continues to unravel.

3. 'Equipment not in shortage in Gaza'
Twenty-four hours after the last ship of the Gaza aid flotilla entered the Ashdod Port under the watchful eye of the Israeli Navy, all of the equipment on board was examined Tuesday and the majority of it was loaded onto trucks headed to the Kerem Shalom border crossing. The flotilla’s flagship, the Marmara - where the clash between Israeli commandoes and the passengers took place and which held the participant’s personal belongings - had yet to be fully inspected.

In a statement to reporters at the port on Tuesday, Colonel Moshe Levi, commander of the IDF’s Gaza Strip Coordination and Liaison Administration (CLA), said that none of the equipment found on board the three cargo ships was in shortage in Gaza.

“We have been working non-stop for the last twenty-four hours examining the cargo holds of the three large cargo ships and I can say with great assurance, that none of the equipment on board is needed in Gaza. The equipment that we found is all equipment that we have regularly allowed into the strip over the past year,” said Levi. “This proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the whole premise of the voyage was for propaganda and provocation and not for humanitarian purposes.”

You offer in front of God and everyone that you are enjoying this situation where so many were killed. What more is there to offer except that you appear to be a psychopath getting your jollies over the murder of innocent people in international waters by a lawless Israeli regime. What a joy you must be to all that know you!

13. Now THAT'S the kind of lunatic raving I can't help but laugh at!
You can't justify your support for terrorism and war-mongering so you project it onto me.

The more irrational it gets the more it indicates to me that your desperate attempt to deny reality is failing painfully. One can only laugh or cry, and I've learned it's useless to cry all the time.

Edited on Tue Jun-01-10 07:27 PM by JuniperLea
And I saw one person saying that there were chants... I saw chanting, but not from a boat. This is your proof of something?

I can assure you, if I were on a ship in international waters and someone, I don't give a flying rat's ass who it is, comes onto my ship, armed and uninvited, they are going to get what they deserve...

Stop trying to make this about Jews... it's not about Jews. Israel is not 100% Jewish.

Yes, hate is irrational... your hate for Palestinians, for example, is patently irrational.

45. Dear JuniperLea....
I appreciate your determination to try to explain your position and attempt to talk some sense to some people but perhaps you energy is better spent elsewhere? Unfortunately trying to talk to some people like say teabaggers or members of the Westboro Baptist Church is like trying to talk to a block of wood. You don't get a positive result. Some people have long ago decided that it was more important to let their hate lead the way and to giving up their humanity so they can continue to hate whatever group of people they dispise It's more important than even their commonsense.

If you argue with them, they will simply shout you down. Even if what they shout makes no sense. They will quote other sources that share their narrow views as true fact and all other facts that does not conform to their view as false propaganda. They will say a lot even though they actually say very little. Through their words, misinformation and misdirection they have made themselves inconsequential to most people except to those who share their views. It's just better to move on.

31. War materiel, not "humanitarian aid"
Of course they didn't include major weapons systems this time, that would be in the next boatload if this one was let through.

But they just couldn't resist including some military supplies to gloat over if it did get through.

The pretense of a "humanitarian aid mission" keeps getting thinner and thinner as the facts come out.

Those items are absolutely humanitarian aid! Those people are being shot at and gassed... damn straight it's a humanitarian act to give these items to those people.

Your "reasoning" in this thread is getting thinner and thinner... please note the irony quotes.

48. Security officials report some 50 boat activists were Al Qaida mercenaries
Security officials told the inner cabinet on Tuesday that about 50 of the 682 activists from over 35 countries were mercenaries affiliated with Al-Qaida and other terrorist groups. They were apparently hired to engage IDF soldiers in combat, and had weapons, security vests and night-vision equipment.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who convened an inner cabinet meeting in Jerusalem on Tuesday afternoon after an early return from Canada, said the flotilla to Gaza was bent on violence and not peace. He said Israel had proof that passengers were armed with knives, clubs and possibly pistols as well.
