Amnesty Int'l: The killing of civilians must stop
Amnesty International

Amnesty International strongly condemns the suicide attack in Jerusalem that claimed the lives of at least ten people and injured scores of others when a man blew himself up in a bus on Thursday morning.

"Palestinian armed groups must put an immediate end to suicide bombings and other deliberate attacks against civilians," said Amnesty International.

Amnesty International has repeatedly condemned suicide bombings and other attacks against civilians carried out by Palestinian groups, including the armed wing of Hamas, Islamic Jihad and al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades. Such deliberate and systematic targeting of civilians constitutes crimes against humanity.

1. if any one is unaware
Amnesty International does condemn the atrocities from both sides (as do most international human rights groups).

2. Better to work on solving the underlying problem
stop the reasons for the attacks
and you will stop the attacks

3. Better to make the attacks
a no-win situation for the perpetrators and their supporters. To reward suicide bombings (eliminate the reason for the attacks) is simply to invite more. If not from these villains, then from a whole new set.

are already a no-win situation for everyone involved. (ok everyone except the crooked politicians and Defense contractors)

The time for a new approach has been long overdue.

5. I agree
Israel should end ALL contact with the Palestinians (except necessary military ventures) until the Palestinians shut down terror. This has not been tried. It's about time.

6. No, no, if you eliminate the reason for the attacks,
then you get more attacks. What don't you understand?
It's like if you stop paying people, then they will come to
work more often and work even harder. Or if you feed
people who are starving then that just encourages them
to starve even faster. Or if you drain all the oil out
of your car's engine, then you are guaranteed it will never
seize up. Do you get it now?

So, if a group of mostly Saudis attacks the United States, the appropriate measures the U.S. should take are obviously to bomb Aghanistan and Iraq.

(It's the whole Bush-Logic thing I'm trying to get good at. Is there a "-for Dummies" book I can pick up to help me out?)

8. Right, and that makes the Saudis stop attacking us.
I think you are getting it.

9. Another good example of this, and relevant to the
original point in this sub-thread, is that if the IDF
harasses and kills innocent Palestinians then that makes
the Palestinian militants stop their attacks on Israelis.
It's really a very powerful kind of "logic" once you get
the hang of it.
