This is our (Jews) land (West Bank & Gaza)
19. January 2005
Interview with Joshua Mor Josef, general secretary of the illegal settler council.
http://www.tagblatt.ch/index.jsp?artikel_id=997327&ressort=hintergrund

Translating words from Joshua Mor Josef spoken during the interview:

"This is our land"
- It's Arafat's fault (Camp David)
- All of the occupied territories belong to Israel
- There is no occupation
- Illegal settlements are legal because of the Balfour declaration and since the left folks in the Labor party founded the first illegal settlements.
- Palestinians don't exist
- There is no room for a two-state solution
- There should be Jewish and Arab-only roads
- The outposts will not be removed because Sharon ordered their construction to secure the hills for Jews.
- Oslo was a success, increasing illegal settlers from 100'000 to 250'000 and even Barak supports this.
- Jews shall never live in an independent Palestinian state on the land that God gave to Jews

1. What's the point
of highlighting extremists on either side?

3. It's not just the extreme

Mr. Begin's sincere intention is, as he himself asserts, to maintain permanent Israeli control everywhere west of the Jordan

4. what do you think?
I don't know what the point of illegal settlements is. It really puzzles me.

The interview simply asks the guy a bunch of questions which he kindly answers. It's up to the individual to guess why the illegal settlements exist and what the future will be.

I like the part where he talks about Sharon's desire to grab land by putting outposts on all of the hill tops.

The poor analogy...nothing more...

I certainly do not agree with anything Joshua Mor Josef has to say above...NOTHING....

13. defending illegal settlements
Yet, you defend illegal settlements instead of criticizing them. Why not spend more time blaming Sharon and Joshua Mor Josef instead of Abbas, given that Joshua Mor Josef is Sharon's creation and Abbas simply wants to undo the damage that they have done?

9. The poster didn't dismiss apartheid
they dismissed the comparison of the I/P situation to apartheid--a totally different proposition

11. miss the conflict..
boy, i get the impression that if peace does break out...you like many many others are going to miss the conflict, nothing to get all excited about.

digging up some stuiped, "god gave us the land" statements from an extremist is similar to me bring up some really cute sayings that my daughter has said

it doenst really interest anyone other than the "immediate family"

(but she was really cute when she said "daddy my mind doesnt care about that...")...I got more if you like

12. reading latest news
People read the latest news because they read the latest news. If the latest news did not exist, then people would not read it.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with reading the latest news. In fact, reading the latest news helps us to understand the latest situation.

The latest situation simply tells us that Israelis are going to grab as much land as possible because they wanted it that way and thus made it that way.

My question is, when will Israelis stop expanding towards the dead sea, pushing Palestinians into it?

14. There's no point pushing someone into the Dead Sea
1) they'll just float
2) it's constantly shrinking

15. and the mud.....
the cosmetics industry keeps pushing the magic qualities of the special environment. I think if we push the palestenains there, the emense human addition to the environment will disrupt the present equilibrium and destroy the industry......

My shampoo is from the dead sea. Eventually, I'll be forced to buy a different brand, unless Israel stops expanding towards it.

"Don't bother me with facts"
