New officer assumes Canadian command role at NORAD
A Canadian has taken over as deputy commander-in-chief of the North American Aerospace Defence Command, replacing another Canadian officer who will become chief of Air Staff in Ottawa.

Canadian Forces Lieutenant-General Eric A. (Rick) Findley replaced Lt.-Gen. Ken R. Pennie during a change-of-office ceremony Monday at Peterson Air Force Base.

Both of them helped run NORAD, a joint Canadian-American agency buried deep in Cheyenne Mountain near Colorado Springs, after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks against the United States.
