Was 9/11 foretold?....

Last night I rummaged thru my closet and found a book I had THE PROPHECIES OF NOSTRADAMUS published in 1973. I look thru the index for topics on the antichrist, World War III and New York and lo and behold below I will share some passages from the book, the translations from the book and tell me what you think...to me these passages are quite telling...

found in p.83 quatrain 97

Titled: Bombing of New York?
The sky will burn at 45 degrees, fire approaches the great New City. Immediately a huge, scattered flame leaps up when they want to have proof of the Normans.

translation: New York county lies 40 and 45 degrees parallel in the USA. There are other references to it as the cite neufve. It appears that the attack is very widespread (scattered flame). The position of France when this occurs is unclear, but France is also involved in a similar quatrain, see X.49 in particular and I.91, IX 92.

p.63 quatrain 87 (very telling of an 9/11 attack)

Titled: Attack on New York?
Earth shaking fire from the centre of the earth will cause tremors around the New City. Two great rocks will war for a long time, then Arethusa will redden a new river.

translation: An explosion in the centre of the city of New York making the land tremble or could tour here mean towers or skyscrapers? The two great rocks are the immutable great powers who will eventually open war. Ingenious commentators interpret Arethusa as coming from Ares God of War and U.S.A. The new river is presumably blood.

Note: original quatrains were in French.


This one is really quite telling because I interpret this to refer to Cheney (who's always hiding secretly underground) and the fact some of us refer to him as the actual President and not Bush.

p. 385 quatrain 92

Titled: New York?
The king will want to enter the New City, they come to subdue it through its enemies; a captive falsely freed to speak and act; the king to be outside, he will stay far from the enemy.

translation: This may refer to New York as in I.87, VI. 97 and X.89 and continue the 3 quatrains describing the city being attacked during the next war. This is logical possibility which must be futuristic as it has not occurred to date. The king far from the enemy is probably the President in some secret underground shelter from which he will continue to direct the war.

....sound familiar?

p. 417 quatrain 72

IN the year 1999 and seven months from the sky will come the great King of Terror. He will bring back to life the great king of the Mongols. Before and after War reigns happily.

Is this the rise of Bush/Cheney?

Titled 3rd Antichrist War
translation: In this gloomy prediction Nostradamus seems to foresee the end of the world at the Millennium, the year 2000. He was greatly influenced in this by medieval thinking which held all millenniums in great dread. From the verse it appears that first we must suffer the Asian antichrist "the king of the Mongols" before the advent of this new and terrifying figure. Note that Nostradamus expects war both before and after this coming.

...the dates alone are quite telling of the coming Bush/Cheney regime

so what do you all think? Remember this book was first published in 1973...

on August 6, there as a Presidential Briefing titled "Bin Laden determined to Strike in US".

A bit more concrete than Nostradamus' vague, cryptic, could-be-interpreted-to-mean-anything ramblings.

9/11 was also foretold in the pilot episode of The Lone Gunmen. Well, kind of... :)
