"Is Bush Wired" just made TV news in the UK
The issue, along with lots of photos from the 1st debate, is in the Sunday papers today - and Sky News just ran a story on it.

While showing video from the debate the news anchors reported the tailor saying it was a rumpling in the suit. But they then started laughing and ridiculed that by saying for $3000 you'd think you could get a better suit. Then one of the anchors said that it sure looked like a wire going over Bush's shoulder.

Sky News is, of course, owned by Rupert Murdoch. So if *they're* covering it perhaps it will filter through to mainstream news in the US... will live in hope!

5. He did spend time trying on designer suits
during an official visit to Italy. Saw a news story on that.

2. I heard something similar being talked about on TV by pundits...
someone (more than one someone) has noticed that * doesn't talk the same way he did 10 years ago. Not only is he more "Texan" in his speech since running for Prez (says he used to talk like Jeb), there's something wrong with his speech. He USED TO BE a good speaker, using complex sentences and at least somewhat big words. But in the last several years he seems to have lost that ability. Now he has trouble remembering words, he has long pauses where he searches for words, he can't recall how to pronounce simple words. They were putting forth a quandary about what could be wrong with him.

I thought to myself: hmmmm...the extreme sweating, the halting phrases, the long pauses, forgetfulness. It reminds me of Reagan's altzheimer's in his last years of his presidency. It also reminds me of someone on drugs? Maybe not illegal drugs, but some sort of Rx drugs?

3. Nah, he's "high on the real things...
a powerful gasoline, a clean windshield, and a shoeshine."

4. I posted a message here last night about Karen Hughes
being seen mouthing Bush's answers word-for-word just BEFORE he gave unscripted answers to questions from the press, after a campaign appearance back in 1999. (See the thread at http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1026440 .) That was mentioned by a journalist doing an article on Hughes for The New Republic. Hughes has often been seen mouthing Bush's words while he's speaking, according to what I've read elsewhere. I have no idea whether other reporters have noticed her mouthing unscripted answers just before W speaks, though -- maybe most reporters who noticed her mouthing his words weren't paying quite as close attention as that TNR writer doing a feature article on her -- so if anyone else has run across any references to this, I hope you'll post them.

6. It's funny how BOTH suits would
have the same "rumple"
