When Kerry wins - should I remove my K/E bumper sticker fast?
Edited on Sun Oct-10-04 12:29 PM by bigskydem
I've had tailgaters, the finger, spit, mustard, and a speck of luncheon meat flung at my sticker in the last few weeks, but I fear the worse when Kerry wins in 23 days.

Maybe even until the inauguration.

I don't like stickers on my car, though, so I'll take it off soon after that.

31. What if it gets stolen? Should you prosecute?
This past week my aunt's large K/E sign was stolen. The police called her yesterday and said it was a couple of kids and did she want to press charges against them. They also told her the kids had told police that they were paid $3.00 for every sign they would steal.

Aa far as I am concerned, they person(s) who hired them should go to jail.

36. She is afraid of retaliation...
She is afraid of retaliation if her name/picture is in the news. I asked her why she would be concerned, afterall they are Christians. I won't share with you her response :)

I talked to her today, and she said that the head of the Democratic headquarters who gave her the sign is going to go with her to the police station, and he is going to press charges. They aren't as concerned about the kids, but want to nail those who paid them.

They really do need to nail those who paid the kids. Really amazing. What values to teach their children. "Here, I'll pay you $3 to commit a crime." Ugh.

honor and courage. My husband wishes I'd park back at the top of the driveway (which is uncomfortably narrow for my tastes) instead of along the curb. I'd rather be out there in defiance. It also makes me want to find some even MORE offensive anti-bush stickers to add to the inside of my back window.

Remember: Look at these acts of vandalism, intimidation, and scare-tactics for what they are: DOMESTIC TERROR. BY DOMESTIC TERRORISTS.

And remind yourself - THIS is the kind of person who supports george bush. THIS is what such a person does. Aren't you DAMNED PROUD you do NOT count yourself among them? I wouldn't want to be part of such a group, or shoulder-to-shoulder with such evil pissants. Note, too, the car-keyers have to do their brave, valiant deeds under cover of night, when nobody's looking, like common criminals (which is what they are, with their vandalism). It's nothing they can proudly do out in the open in the full sunlight where everybody can see, now, is it?

Repeat: bush supporters are DOMESTIC TERRORISTS. bush pals support DOMESTIC TERRORISM. Feelin' safer?

39. Wouldn't it be just and appropriate
if our resident bona fide domestic terrorists were actually charged as terrorists under the laws they claim to be supporting?

Not that I expect such a thing to happen as long as their terrorist organization also claims to be the Republican Party.

And you know these koolaid drinkers will be dissing Kerry and trying to sabotage him the minute he's declared the winner!

9. I'm Getting Honks with Thumbs Up Signs All of the Time
No way will I take them off - I'm going to be proud to have supporter the winner.

An elderly woman got out of her car yesterday (I was pulling out of a parking lot, asked me to roll down my window and said "I love your bumper stickers" and gave me a five! It was awesome. Last night someone kept honking behind me and when I looked in the R/V mirror, the whole family was giving me the "peace" or Victory sign and waving madly at my stickers.

16.  i love little anecdotes like that
I saw two K/E button in line at Subway yesterday. I high-fived the gal (about 27) and had to raise my voice to the old farmer in overalls who had the button stuck on his John Deere trucker hat (not tilted ala ashton). He had an ear-piece (to actually hear) and I greeted him with GO KERRY much to the chagrin of the man behind him.

22. I'll only gloat among my Demo. friends. Not in front of any Pugs.
When Kerry wins, I'm going to be a graceful member of the new party in power. Let the Pugs hurl insults at me, throw lunch meat at my bumper sticker, whatever. I'm just going to be as nice as pie, and ask any Pugs who make comments how we can work together, now, to make this a better country. I'm gonna be so sweet, they ain't gonna be able to STAND it. And that'll show the integrity and the compassion of the Democrats, and the horrible attitude of the Pugs.

There's no shame in doing the right thing, even if you're in the minority (and you often will be). :)

Mat 7:13-14 "You can enter God's Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way. But the gateway to life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it."

Because you never know when one of us Kerry supporters may just happen to brake suddenly.

Particularly if we've got an old, beat up car... with a solid back bumper.

Pretty much across the board, if someone rearends you, it's considered their fault.

42. I can't believe the number of people on either side
who won't actually attach their stickers to the bumper. Some say they don't want to ruin the finish. Others have them in their windows.

That's fine, but I've heard others say they don't want to be stuck with a loser on their bumper if their side doesn't win.

I thought about that rationale, aided by Dido on the radio:
I will go down with this ship
I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love, and always will be.

I got one of the bumper stickers I carry around for others, and stuck that puppy right on the bumper. No more removable window signs for me. I'm a fully attached Kerry Democrat. Hoo-rah!

When he gets elected, I'm taking a paintstick and adding the word *IS* to it, ie: "John Kerry *IS* President"

And I'm gonna pull alongside any "W'04" stickers I see and point and go "HAH-hah!"

Or maybe, in the spirit of Free Enterprise and Small Busisnesshood, I'll say "Hey! I'll get that embarrassment off your SUV for $20! how 'bout it? nobody need know you supported that buffoon...."
