How diverse is Clark's corporate history?
Looking at his lobbying firm Wesley K. Clark and Associates, I see -- nothing but white straight men in senior positions.

Looking at the Clark campaign organization in Little Rock, I see not a single homosexual.

Looking at the senior management at Acxiom, the homeland security firm he worked for, I see nine white directors, only one of which is a woman (and none of whom appear to be openly gay). The CEO is. . . a white (heterosexual) male.

Looking at Entrust, another company he helped manage, I see another white heterosexual male CEO, and a board of directors with only one Asian (and again, all male).

Using the Dean standard (lack of diversity indicates a series of major questions about leadership on diversity), what can we conclude from Clark's lack of interest in diversity at his companies?

6. Most gay people are out.
The only people who assume gays are closeted are people who aren't in tune with contemporary reality.

In addition, I read the executive bios, which mention wives and children. Duhhhhh. But nice try. :)

I guess you're conceding the points on racial and gender diversity, too. Thanks. :)

12. Good old fashioned double standards.
In Dean's case, it's a "serious question" and "makes him unfit."

In Clark's case, it's "no big deal" and "drivel."

Thanks for once again proving my point about double standards. :)

3. Clearly your gaydar needs fixing
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 01:33 AM by tameszu
Actually, I know of a bunch of homosexuals on Clark's campaign in LR.

EDIT for a lame attempt at humor, appropriate to this very lame thread: There's a new movie out called _The Seventh Sense_. The most dramatic line: "I see GAY people!"

Heh.

8. I am definitely not going to throw out their personal lives on this board
(Too bad so few states have civil union laws)

But I know senior staffers who are gay.

Otherwise I wouldn't know. :eyes:

But I'm not sure if they want me to be spreading it around, just like I'm not sure if many het friends of mine would want me spreading around who they're sleeping with.

10. I actually met
openly gay assistants and volunteers when I was campaigning in NH. I even slept in the same room with one. Clark wasn't there.

15. Assistants and volunteers aren't senior staff.
Dean had openly gay and minority assistants and volunteers as guv too, yet you're assailing him. Apply the same standards you're using with Clark to Dean.

Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 01:51 AM by tameszu
Cris Hernandez (XO as SACEUR): Latino.

Eli Segal (campaign chair): Jewish

Jamal Simmons (traveling press sec'y): African American

Maya Israel (assc. dir. of communications): Jewish

Mickey Kantor (chairman of campaign steering committee): Jewish

I'm pretty sure that Dick Sklar (campaign COO) is also Jewish as well.
