IN A LANDSLIDE. In. A. Landslide.
IN A LANDSLIDE, or, Confidence Has Its Place

KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE
KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE

I'd be the last person to suggest that the election is in the bag and we can just sit back and wait for Bush to be crushed. There's a great deal of work that must be done.

But, why NOT approach the closing weeks with a unified confidence?

Whenever I hear a jittery Dem concerned about 'polls' I just say: KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE.

I could go into an extended explanation of 20th century polling methodology in a 21st century election. I could quote statistics on new and un-pollled voters. I could point out that worrying about a NATIONAL poll is utterly pointless.

But, I just say: KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE. Enough said.

And, as far as kool-ade drinkers go? You can't change a 'mind' that won't engage. Screw 'em! Project unshakable confidence. KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE. Let them sputter. As far as I'm concerned, a bush win is unworthy of consideration. KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE. Go away. The best they've got is stealing yard signs and bush is out preaching to his so-called 'base' while real conservatives are attacking. KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE.

As I say above, it doesn't mean sitting back and waiting. It does mean going into the final weeks with utter confidence that a MASSIVE TURNOUT will elect Kerry and send the chimp whimpering back to his 'ranch' an even bigger, and more miserable failure than his Poppy.

28. Heck yeah, I do
I know 2 former log cabin republicans, I know two folks from Texas that voted W in 2000 but are now voting Kerry, I know atleast 5 people my husband works with. I know about 6 sorority and fraternaty members that can't stand W anymore. I have one black friend that voted W in 2000 and is now voting Kerry, I know 3 arabs now voting Kerry. And I know about 5 families of folks in the Military that have either been to Iraq or are on their way to Iraq.

I actually know more folks than that considering the folks that come up to our Kerry table.

As I have said if dems are doing this well in MS, then Bush is toast.

at best...

i have NO use for polls. but, Nadir has reached his namesake, esp. with his sucking at the repuke teat.

who, in their right mind, could every vote for this sad, pandering sell-out, regardless of his (long) past contributions to consumer advocacy?

"help me help bush" - what kind of campaign in that?

The biggest was when Bankruptin' Ronnie took 49 states in 1984.

To beat BRR, we'd either have to take all fifty states, or leave Bush with somewhere like Wyoming or Alaska.

13. They are backed in the corner and seriously sweating bullets....
Electoral college looking better....http://www.electoral-vote.com/

Regardless of what the media is painting...the momentum HAS shifted to Kerry.

You also can see this verified in terms of increased negativity...increased reaching on their part. I didn't think they could go any lower...but there will be a whole new level of negativity in the last 3 weeks...

Also...an interesting comment by the "Votemaster"....

"The site has had technical problems repeatedly in the past several days and has been down several times. I didn't want to discuss this, but I don't want anyone to think the problem was an incompetent hosting service. Just the opposite. The site has been subjected to a full-scale, well-organized, massive attack with the clear intention to bring it down. The attackers have tried repeatedly to break in, but the server is a rock-solid Linux system which has stood up to everything they threw at it and hasn't crashed since I got it in May. While our troops are fighting and dying to bring freedom of speech to the Iraqi people, there are forces in America who find this concept no longer applicable to America. I don't know who is behind this attack yet (although we are working it), but it is too professional to be some teenager working from a home PC. Given that all the hate mail and threats I get come entirely from Republicans, I can make an educated guess which side is trying to silence me, but I won't say. And I won't surrender to cyberterrorists."

16. Here's why I think Bush is going to loose this election.
I live in a small country town about 30 miles north of Tampa. It's very redneck. Two years ago when Jeb was running for Governor there were at least 8 to 10 Jeb signs on my street. There is only one Bush/Cheney sign on the same street today, one and one only!

former * supporters who have seen the light are:

hopefully, in the privacy of the voting booth, they will vote for change. and their own best interest.

59. Landslide!
The closer we get til election day, the surer I am we'll win. I spoke to a friend of mine today in Germany (an Army wife), who says from what she hears it's an even split there. This is really great news because the military is usually heavily conservative. Hearing that from her made me feel better about this election than anything else I've heard. Turning the tide in the military vote is a major accomplishment.

76. now is the time to be RESOLUTE
focused. clear. strong.

now is the time to show the brain-dead, kool-ade gulping, spineless, self-destructive, self-loathing, 'base' that the insipid chimp is STILL trying to solidify, what genuine, informed, passionate and compassionate RESOLVE is all about.

KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE

if they haven't figured out that they are being used and exploited by the insipid chimp's REAL base... the haves and the have-mores, give them NOTHING but RESOLVE.

you're NOT going to argue them into changing.

blow them off with righteous disdain. KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE.

and walk over them. they're doormats if they don't belong to the millionaires club who wipes their shit on them every day.

/sorry. mike malloy has me FIRED UP!

64. Agreed in a landslide
Confidence is infectious. In Australia 67% of the population thought Howard would win, despite close polling data. Guess who won. There is something to the idea of spreading confidence. Keep up the great work.

68. thank you. you (among others) really *got*
the point of my post.

WillPitt's "jinx" comment missed my point (maybe he only read the sub line).

it wasn't about a prediction, it was about an ATTITUDE.

part of the RW plan is to demoralize us with lies and distortions.

we should smile, shrug and say: KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE

and go happily on our way... confident that our ONGOING WORK will win out!

71. At tonight's Ohio Women for Kerry meeting in Dayton
I announced that our new buzzword is "landslide" as in "Kerry in a Landslide."

At first the women looked puzzled, but then they all smiled, agreed, and the meeting's mood changed dramatically. Everyone was happy and enthusiastic again and ready to do whatever is needed to ensure that landslide.

Thanks for the shot of adrenaline, nostamj. We needed that!

74. oh, that is SO great to hear!
I'm really just parroting Randi Rhodes who has been pushing this LANDSLIDE idea for a while.

just stay on course. as I've said... this is an ATTITUDE, not a PREDICTION... there's LOTS of work ahead.

thanks for the post!

72. Kerry Is Going to Take Some Solid Red States
I'm so sick of hearing Arizona referred to as "a sure bet for Bush". Lots of people in allegedly "solid" red states have reported enormous pro-Kerry activity.

I'm confident there will be a few surprises on Election Day...I hope there will be LOTS of surprises.
