Apparently, Democrats are so busy arguing with each other
that they don't have the opportunity to see how silly they look. I seldom post here but I have been coming to DU almost daily for several years now. Some of the comments I've seen lately are downright petulant and childish, especially among staunch supporters of certain candidates. I really don't see how the Democrats can expect to win the general election when some of the candidates are too stupid and vindictive to figure out that the Republicans are the ones they're supposed to be criticizing! God knows Bush has given us plenty of topics with which to bash him with.

1. I think a lot of people here realize it...
I've seen plenty of threads essentially saying what you've posted.

4. Dean started it all when used the IWR vote as wedge issue
It helps him tremendously in the primaries and dooms him the general election.

Typical 3rd-grade 'he started it' mindset...

17. It no longer matters--and no ones agrees anyway...
Besides, I've read this all before.

2. You're right.
Our party is so divided. If we stay like this, I don't see how the hell we'll win the general election.

3. You are right
We should be firing on all eight cylinders right now against Bush. Republicans like O'Neill and Phillips are doing a better job of exposing Bush than our own candidates. Talk about "staying on message".

<Sigh>

5. Hopefully this is temporary...
Also there are any number of disruptors here these days...that is a major factor.

8. Then do something about it
It's easy to complain from the sidelines. Why don't you post a critique when you see someone being divisive?

9. That's why so many posts are from new DUers
Members are being driven away by the attitude, so the recently-joined members now make up a larger percentage of posting activity (until they get enough exposure to the primary-related acrimony and leave).

10. You're correct and it
is reminiscent of what the republicans did to Bill Clinton for 10 f***king years. There's NO difference.

11. There's vigorous debate, and there's petty politicking
I agree, much of the latter here - but then again, this is the time when the Democratic candidate to defeat Bush is determined.

Once the nomination's there, and the petty politicking goes on, is when I'll pass final judgement. Until then it's fairly justifiable fair game.

Besides, I am reminded of the very significant call to support for the Democratic candidate, that was made by Howard Dean, during a live debate and endorsed by the other candidates.

It's not as bad as it is made to look by a few diehards here on DU.

15. Nomination Rules
The nominating process should be a competition to see who can trash Bush in the most substantial way. That way the winner isn't very nicked up for the finals.
