Sounds good. The documentary runs for 90 minutes or so, and Kerry gets 90 minutes, to do/say whatever the f*ck he wants to do. Can you imagine how much damage he could inflict on shrub? It's a touchy subject with some people but it's something to think about.
they have the leisure of dealing with the slander and then presenting a lot more to an intrigued audience.
If they get equal time Sinclair should back off. it's like doing a risky and dumb one idea infomercial for Bush where Bush never appears then letting the other guy do WHATEVER he wants with lots of viewers attracted who never would have watched it had Kerry been given a stand alone spot OR if Bush had a positive(boring) puff piece on himself.
IF they get it which I doubt the FCC will allow. That is a big enchilada. Taking advantage of "rebuttal time" playing by the slanderer's rules is a pretty miserable alternative. Ted Koppel has just done more than that with his latest examination on all those stations of the medal issue.
Maybe it is just me, but the documentary on Kerry should have been timed and released with the same flair as Michael Moore used.
but the demand for equal time is the perfect illustration of what happens WITHOUT the fairness doctrine - exposes the thing for what it is and perhaps wakes up more people to the RW takeover of our lives via propaganda instead of real news.
