CRUCIFIED HIM. Said that the media and shows like Crossfire are HURTING America. Said "What is wrong with you?" Called him a partisan hack. Said what he and Crossfire does is Partisan Hackery. Carlson tried to give Stewart a hard time for not being hard on Kerry -- Stewart's response? "My show comes on after puppets making prank phone calls. What is wrong with you?" Then he lectured about how the fact that a comedy show is expected to hold politician's feet to the fire is indicative of the problem with the media. Carlson then TWICE called Stewart "Kerry's Butt Boy" WOAH! Tucker, loosen the friggin' bowtie! Stewart said, "You wouldn't believe what Kerry ate two weeks ago"

Just saw John on Crossfire with Tucker Carlson & Paul Begalia and I am in absolute awe of the man. In a very serious way he took them, their show, and news media to task in general for running shows steeped in theater. He admonished them for not holding the news to a higher standard than a comedy show, for their pandering to partisan politicians, for not holding politicians feet to the fire during questions and interviews. And specifically told them that Crossfire in general was missing a real opportunity, in fact, doing a disservice by not engaging in true authentic debate. Tucker Carlson practically came unhinged when it was clear John wasn't going to play funny man, and called John a drag and a bore in real life. John responded that Tucker was just as big a dick in real life as he is on his show. In those exact words.
