Endorsements strong for Kerry...
Dear Editor:
Newspaper endorsements reject Bush and embrace Kerry.
"Four years ago, this page endorsed George W. Bush for president. We cannot do so again — because of an ill-conceived war and its aftermath, undisciplined spending, a shrinkage of constitutional rights and an intrusive social agenda." (The Seattle Times)
"With full realization that we serve a Republican community in the President's home state, we feel a responsibility nevertheless to urge you to say no to a second term for George W. Bush, based on foreign policy and national security concerns alone." (Citizen's Advocate Newspaper)
"Bush, whom endorsed in 2000, has offered simplistic slogans to complex problems, while Kerry sees complicated problems and offers the promise of appropriate solutions - complex or not." (The Albuquerque Tribune)
"The president has failed, or refused, to pursue consensus on America's problems and instigated solutions that have produced results ranging from mixed to disastrous." (Detroit Free Press)
"John Kerry offers the fresh beginning the nation needs." (Dayton Daily News)
"Americans can see already that John Kerry would be a good president. They should give him the chance to be a great one." (Daytona Beach News Journal)
Sincerely,
