Should we try a new anti-media tactic?
I don`t know about all of you, but I`m about fed up with yo-yo polls, media cheerleaders,Dubya Team Talking Points and all the rest of the garbage that the so-called news channels offer.

I`m a news junkie but a few weeks ago I decided that CNN had spewed the last raw lie that was ever going to filter through my ears. In a split-second decision, I turned them off and I`ve not been back. That was about six weeks ago. Do I miss them? Hell no. I haven`t watched Faux News in two years and on top of that I hit the off button every single time a Republican mouthpiece is given air time on Hardball, Washington Journal or any other such program. I can`t tell you how good that made me feel. Now instead of spending my time being upset by every little idiotic comment, I focus on teaming up with like-minded people who are determined to make a difference. That decision has been a very powerful one for me.

I`d love to see us mastermind a powerful media boycott. No polls, no answers to their Question of the Day, no nothing except an email saying something like:
Greetings CNN, I`m delighted to inform you of my liberating decision.... no more watching, no more poll taking, no more responding to Questions of the Day,no more emails, nothing. Enough is enough.

The media`s conduct during this time of war and constitutional crisis deserves nothing short of resounding rejection. We should grab that power and hit them hard by putting a stop to their influence in our daily lives. If you think hitting the OFF button isn`t powerful, just give it a try....then stick to it. Get your news on your terms, not theirs. I can almost guarantee you`ll be glad you did.

1. Its happening!
The straw seems to be finally breaking he camel's back now. You are not alone and many people are expressing a need for a more organized counter-punch to corporately owned media. They can see it for what it is.

The media has stepped a bit too far over the facade they weave and the edges of the mask are clearly revealed. It will be enjoyable to watch them try to spin the seams back together, as they usually do. This time, it won't work and the Oz-head will yell loudly: "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!" Thing is, we see him now. The curtain is drawn back for good.

After the election, I see a lot of private money and effort going into a huge effort to revolutionize media. Now that the people are rallied, it is simply a matter of shifting that focus for some important changes.

If we don't lose this momentum, we may actually be able to create a real Democracy for a change. So far, it has been a carefully managed one.

3. Yes!
teaming up with like-minded people Rocks!

The only thing I would add to the above is to go ahead and nurture our media (AAR, web boards, etc.) and make sure others know that they have a choice.

I also want to push for cable companies to unbundle their channels so that you can order and only pay for the channels you want to receive.
