Here's another way to steal an election...
Forgive me if this has been discussed before...
While basking in the glow of Kerry's momentum, it suddenly struck me- what if the following happened:
No October surprise, but on Election Day, "irregularities" are discovered in many key swing states, i.e. FL, OH, etc. The federal authorities may be involved, Ashcroft's Justice Dept., or someone else. In collusion with the Bush campaign, injunctions are filed, and although voting continues, no vote counts are released after the polls are closed, and all ballots are considered "provisional" until the manufactured issues are resolved in the (supreme) courts. This may bring Sproul & co's antics into play, or Diebold. BushCo would present their case- "we want to make sure every vote is counted, blah, blah, blah"
What this would mean is the media would not be able to call certain states, and therefore, the election, for a particular candidate, i.e. Kerry.
If the media were able to call the election for Kerry, then, even if BushCo filed legal challenges after the votes were tallied, they could be seen as "sore losers" and the perception of Kerry would be as the defacto President-Elect, as Bush was in 2000.
Any thoughts on this?
Hopefully, this scenario is already part of the Kerry campaign's contingency plans with their 600 lawyers scattered throughout the USA this week.
