Bush HID for 24 hrs. after 9/11....Why is he considered strong?
I keep hearing on TV and reading that Bush is admired by his followers and a lot of the American public because he was so strong, resolute, unflinching, decisive on 9/11!.....This does not jibe with my memory of him as (1) being told of the attacks in the schoolroom and sitting stunned for 7 minutes, and then (2)disappearing for 24 hours before he finally came on TV to talk to the American people!... Is the big deal about him that he put his arm around a fireman at "ground zero" and made his promise to go after "them"?.....I just don't get it????

Why don't Democrats point this out?

1. He's the Big Little Man.....He's the Strong Weak Leader.....

He is a facade created by the media and the right wingers. He is no leader at all. He is a dangerous charlatan - a flim-flam man.

2. Scared of Nuclear War
Bush almost got us in a nuclear war on 9/11/2001 with th Russians and probably bunkered down at Mt. Weather or the Greenbriar unti everything quieted down...

3. Democrats don't point it out because they're afraid
of having that kind of truth-telling used against them. And they actually do have reason to be afraid of that, considering the viciousness of the Republicans and the complicity of the media. Suskind, though, now that I'm thinking about it, actually mentioned Bush's shaky start after 9/11 in the Faith article. I didn't hear him refer to it tonight on Charlie Rose.

I was surprised he used the phrase "one of the greats" to talk about Bush's 9/11 performance. I'm thinking that, like so many media types, he really believes that Bush did well enough during one of the country's greatest crises (which I don't believe, for the record) to qualify as "great"--that just by virtue of his being in office during a megalithic event, he'll be remembered as long as 9/11 is remembered.

And Clinton had been out of the country.

Bush flew in the opposite direction on Air Force 1. The Coward.

7. Does anyone remember his apologizing to the Chinese
and asking for our spy plane back. He didn't seem too strong then did he? But that was before you know what so the media has totally forgotten it.

8. We could write a song called Chickenhawk
set to that damn "Summertime Summertime sum-sum-Summertime" song, with verses about:
hiding in the National Guard
hiding from the National Guard
hiding on 9/11
and my personal favorite, almost bolting from the stage when protesters challenged him at the convention this year.

No doubt anybody here can come up with untold numbers of further examples. Sing it at all his rallies!

9. My question is: Where was Cheney?
I did not see him for MONTHS after 9/11. He was probably busy planning Iraqnam with the neo-cons. Also, if anyone tries telling me how "strong" Bush is on terrorism, I point out his three different positions on UBL: 1. Wanted Dead or Alive 2. "I'm honestly not worried about him 3. What he said in the debate
