too many whiners here, no offense
1. mason dixon leans right, always has. the trend in polling shows PA, Mich, and Minn are locked up.

2. right-leaning gallup shows 6 point lead for Kerry in Ohio

3. hunting and killing animals is part of mainstream America. If you want the democratic party to be against it, then the democratic party would be destroyed ine one fail swoop. 60 million americans fish and hunt, and they are very active voters. So either quietly disagree, or doom the democratic party forever.

There is NOTHNG TO be whining about. Does anyone remember one fucking year ago? It looked like a Bush landslide. We were all doomed. Now we have a guy who is in better position than Al Gore 12 days before the election.

That's nothing to whine about. Lets try and create a positive, forceful energy that will help propel Kerry into office.

The "thoughtful liberal act" doesn't win elections, in case you havent noticed. Philosophizing, whining, playing devils advocate and doubting is a loser in a national election. Rallying behind your candidate, being fiercely loyal and presenting a powerful, cohesive message wins elections.

Just my opinion. We are on the edge of victory. Kerry has the advantage.

18. He Made It Up To Two Hundred Fifty Three....
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 10:26 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
By the way I never hunted or killed a fetus...

As for hunting and fishing I like meat and fish so to condemn it would make me a hypocrite...

If a woman sought my counsel on an unwanted pregnancy I would do everything I could to encourage her to have the baby and put it up for adoption but I am not going to use the awesome power of the state to coerce her...

Peace

Brian

9. I Hide dozens of threads - some think we want to hear their thoughts!
Not me - I just hate people who worry out loud less than two weeks before an election. It's past time for complaining and worrying - get out and vote and worry later...

7. I don't care for hunting, but I learned to get over it.
It is my choice not to hunt, but it would be incredibly stupid for me to try to suppress hunters here in WI. Hell, two of my girl-cousins are avid bow & arrow hunters!

When they tell me about their hunting, I just say, sounds like you had a good time.

I don't have to judge everything in the world...what a relief!

11. I can't believe that people thought the media would help unseat an
incumbent Republican president. I really can't. I mean the same useless US media that gave us the Iraq War? The terror alerts on scuba divers and cows? I swear that if I see one more "Judy Woodruff is a whore" thread while I'm at work, I will scream.

I'm surprised people watch shit like Scarborough and then whine about it. What the hell else do we expect from a former GOP congressman that was on every show during the recount fiasco arguing that Bush was president and that Gore should concede?

The same goes with Chris Matthews, Judy Woodruff, Bill Schnieder, Candy Crowley, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, or any other lying scummy media whore. Watching those shows will only get you down.

I thought she was an emaciated old hag, with shriveled up titties.

Bush: "Uh, gosh, I don't think I ever said Judy Woodruff had big hooters, that's kinda one of those uh, eggs-aggerayshuns."

16. You are confusing whining with apprehension.
Those are two very different items. A lot of people are apprehensive about this election and they come here for support. That is not unreasonable given the situation. Isn't it better for them to air their concerns here than in a less dedicated public forum?

Many people here also a new to this and don't know the score on polling. They hear the media play up any poll supporting the Chimperor as big news and it gets their attention. Again they come here to find out what's going on.

I have NO problem with any of that. I also don't see defeatism in that worry, merely a need to be reassured. It is not whining.

You are absolutely correct on #3. Hunting and fishing are here to stay and anyone who thinks the Democratic party should oppose them is not dealing with reality.

You are also correct in that Kerry has the advantage.

20. The polls have been trending for Kerry all week--one day is a glitch
and is nothing to be concerned about and as posted, at least two of the polls are highly suspect and have prior histories of being very, very wrong.

23. Election day is like another day at work
Our famous saying at our law firm -- wake up and push the guy in front of you -- i.e., keep the line moving. This is "hard work time," so put your head down & do it. It is great to have this spot to vent after you are done, but you can't "vent after you are done" until you have done the work. So do it and talk about it later.

26. You are 100% Correct
I am focused on ending the Bush tragedy/dynasty/whatever.

It looks good to do that.

I am going to get my ass down to the polls on Nov 2 and vote for John Kerry, and then watch the end of Bush come about.

We've worked long and hard for this.

Now it's time for the payoff.
