Poll question: When you read an inflammatory thread title that puts Kerry down
what do you do? I struggle with this all the time. Sometimes its obviously a freeper who started the thing, but that doesn't make my dilemma any easier. If a long standing DUer posts the thread I probably will be more inclined to respond, but even then I know I'm doing the wrong thing. I should let the dud sink. But a (perceived) freeper thread really gets my dander up. I want to take the stupid asshole on, but that obviously also keeps the thread up.

This situation is like desperately needing to scratch an itchy poison ivy spot, but knowing that's gonna make it ever so much worse.

3. Better to ignore
and let the thread die. That way it goes away...

Some are worth discussing, but the unnecessarily negative ones should just fade away.

4. In writing I can calmly explain why they're wrong
Face to face, I get so mad and upset I end up crying, which is my defense mechanism for anger I guess.

It's the attacks on his service that get me mostly. And lately I can't stand the "flip flopper" refrain.

I wish I wasn't so emotionally attached to our Johnny. It might be a dad thing (I lost my Navy dad a few months ago. We were going to vote Clark together. So I voted Clark alone even though he wasn't running anymore. He was on the ballot, damn it!)

But yeah, this election has been ridiculously emotional for me. It's also my very first.

I wish I could show everyone the man I see, but so many aren't willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Ulterior motives are assigned to everything he does. It's not fair damn it. This is a GOOD man. Why can't more see it?
