1. Record of What?
He's going to be inheriting a huge mess.

3. Well Clinton ran a great country...
I am wondering even with the mess can Kerry not only fix what is broken but really impress us? I mean he just seems amazing and I don't recall watching any of Clinton's debate speeches when he was running. Are they similar at all?

8. Well, Clinton is Clinton. . .
and his style is unique. On the stump and in debates, he was much less formal than Kerry often is, but both men are equally effective in town meeting settings or when you see them relating to people on a rope line.

My feeling is that Kerry is going to hit the ground running. He may do a "First 100 Days" program like FDR in order to stanch the bleeding and provide some temporary economic relief to everyone. I think the changes will be immediate and positive. Not everything he tries will work, but at least Kerry is brave enough to give it a go.

And I'm with him all the way.

2. It would be extremely difficult to top Clinton's record...
...even if it WASN'T from the starting point Bush will leave him with. He's going to have to spend considerable time just getting back to break even.

5. It would be great if Kerry could come close to matching the Big Dog's
record. I am pulling for him. Clinton started from a huge hole after 12 years of republican waste.

4. I expect nothing short of greatness
And a nobel peace prize at some point for him, either during his presidency or after.

7. I'm expecting him to show the Conservatives that he's not a one-termer
Over at American Conservative, at least one of them is hoping for that, thinking that Kerry is an empty suit who will be to preoccupied with Iraq to wage any liberal mischief.

I love what I'm hearing about early Cabinet speculation: that Kerry wants women, minorities and at least one or two REPUBLICANS in there somewhere. Here's your uniter, folks. I think he wants to reward some of the ones who have piped up against this administration, the ones with some non-partisan guts.

I'm still hoping for Wesley Clark for Sec. of Defense, though.

I'll be happy in any case as long as he is there. I think he will make good choices. He'll have to -- Bush will be leaving such a mess behind.
