DNC Releases New Animal Themed Ad

Ad Compares Bush to an Ostrich with its Head in the Sand

Washington, DC - The Democratic National Committee responded today to the Bush-Cheney "Wolves" ad with a 30 second animal ad of their own. The new television ad features a juxtaposition of the qualities seen in an eagle and those found in an ostrich.

"If the Republicans want to introduce animals into the political discourse, then the Democrats are happy to respond," said Terry McAuliffe, Chairman of the DNC. "Like the ostrich featured in our new ad, George W. Bush has got his head buried in the sand. On Iraq, the economy and the soaring cost of health care, Bush refuses to see his wrong choices – let alone fix them."

Atrios reports watching them air the ad on Crossfire with all kinds of scary buildup about how awesome it was and how well it had focus-grouped 6 months ago, 'n' they been savin' it up 'n' stuff to kill that Kommie Kerry.

And when they came back from airing the clip the audience, well, er... LAUGHED.

If the Dems have half a clue, they can turn this into the biggest career-killing mistake in W history.
