It's time to say thank you to the Sinclair advertisers
The broadcast wasn't too bad and we won. I have no doubt that Sinclair caved to their advertisers and investors. We put pressure on them and they pressured Sinclair. Again, WE WON.

Now we have to say thank you and tell all the advertisers. We appreciate that your company chooses to not support partisan broadcasts. We all depend on an independent media.

1. Let's determine which products and services to reward
In Capitalism brand awareness and equity is everything.

5. Whataburger
For sure. I think Burger King took off advertising for the day. I hope folks make a list of those who really stood up, I remember there were a few.

9. I didn't watch the "movie" but I did watch the discussion after
and they showed clips of "Going Upriver" specifically the clip of Kerry going back for his crew member who was in the water and who he saved. They showed part of his testimony upon returning from VN and they interviewed the guy who made "Going Upriver" I thought that part was positive for Kerry.

3. the pressure worked: No ads at all on the Syracuse station!
The ad time was filled with promos for tv programs, sitcoms, etc. on the station itself.

And the piece itself was clearly much toned down from the original intent. But it was still a hit job, they still reported as fact stuff that was bullshit...

7. I didn't think ads during the show were the issue
I thought originally it was to be shown without any ads, anyway.

11. I think they changed that
another poster said that they broadcast regular commercials during the program on another Sinclair station...

They did NOT show the movie they'd originally planned to do, but instead ran a pseudo-news event with segments, between which there were regular commercial ad time slots.

6. I didn't watch it but it appears that it was much better
than any of us expected. That's probably a win in this media environment.
