Early voting running very strong for Kerry in FLORIDA
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A55598-2004Oct22.html

In Florida, a sampling of eight counties showed a consistent pattern of Democrats turning out to cast early ballots in greater proportion than their share of registered voters, while Republicans were going to the early voting sites at or below what their registration percentages would suggest.

In Seminole County, for example, Democrats make up 31.7 percent of the registered voters but 40 percent of the early voters. The same was true in Republican-leaning Brevard County, where Fred Galey, supervisor of elections, said that he had no specific figures but that "many more Democrats" are casting ballots than Republicans.

In Osceola County, a Democratic bastion, Democrats are turning out for early voting in higher percentages than their share of registered voters, while Republicans are below their registration levels. The same was true in Hillsborough, the highly populated county where Tampa is located.

Mindy Tucker Fletcher, a spokeswoman for the Florida Republican Party, was not too worried: "They're doing well in their areas of the state, and we're doing well in ours," she said.

2. Can you imagine this?
Kerry wins Ohio AND Florida, but loses Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota?

I'd crack-up laughing..

Could you imagine the freepers going nuts?

6. better yet
Kerry wins Ohio and Florida and gets a huge 300 electoral vote victory but the crazies in the red states vote in such high numbers for Bush that he gets the popular vote victory!

I want to see the outrage from republicans that the electoral college should be abolished!!!!! ha ha ha

20. As far as litigation goes, it's actually better for us to spread
out our wins between more states...

Like, imagine if we won close races in IA, WI, NM, OH....very hard for Rove to litigate all four.

Now, if we cut that down to just FL and OH....substantially easier for him.

I don't think the Republicans realize this is a mistake.

On edit: Who did you vote for in the Soil & Water Conservation District?

Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 10:02 PM by fishnfla
5 times the number who turned out for early voting in the primaries in 1 site. The NAACP sued to open more locations.

No word of party affiliation that I know of......

Edit to add, there are 369,000 registered voters in this county

We democrats here in Florida have worked our butts off getting out the vote, and making sure no one prevented anyone from registering and right now preventing any democrat from voting.

25. You are not kidding
fortunately I am large and threatening looking and I was kept in the background and pulled out whenever young Republican thugs were threateniing our workers. Was especially fun when we found and followed some kids who were tearing down Kerry signs, Listening to their convessations that they had to go back to the Republican headquarters to get the Bush signs to replace the Kerry signs discovering which Bush campaign officials put them up to it and provided the signs was even more fun when I confronted them, identified them and told them I was calling in the cops with witnesses to the kids conversations in which they discussed that Bush workers put them up to it.
Yeah we did a lot of work

14. Yep. I cast my vote in Lee County yesterday.
Democrats are especially motivated to vote in Florida this election. We have not forgotten, nor forgiven, the theft of the election in 2000 that resulted in a Bush mis-administration rather than a Gore victory. We are PISSED and we WON'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!

We are going to have to keep a close eye on jeblet though. No telling what that f'er might try to do on November 2.

31. Jeb is helpless
Florida and National Dems got caught flatfooted last time, who would have expected someone to try to actually fix a national election?! That's not going to happen again, *ever*. Jeb Bush isn't some all-powerful Oz, neither is Karl Rove. Florida dems have the situation well in hand, good job to all and keep up the good work. :)

35. We dont know who people voted for...
we just know what the people who voted were registered...if the registered democrats were voting in much higher percentages, that usually means a good thing for Kerry...

probably knows the daily vote count in FL... and the overall tally at the county level. Can anyone tell me that they don't have this information?
