planned to canvass this weekend
but I'm sick as a dog

what can I do to help.

I can still use my computer.

In between coughing fits, I can use the phone . . .

Any ideas?

1. I'm in CA and have been calling voters and volunteers through moveon.org
and johnkerry.com. I think a lot of groups have ways to call at home. The phone bank I work at in Santa Monica has a home phone calling system. Good luck, and I hope you feel better.

I'm so impressed with the grassroots organization of all these groups. I've worked in political campaigns for 35 years, and I've never seen anything like this.

2. Make calls
Call volunteers through the Kerry site. Are you signed up there?

5. You don't have to call them.
You can do it from home. You just need an internet connection and a phone. The Kerry volunteer page can set you up to call volunteers. It's pretty easy. I have gotten a ton of calls.

6. See if you could do data entry from home
Sometimes you can get access to canvassing databases and you can enter the data from the people who canvassed. Otherwise, take it easy! Rest and drink plenty of fluids. You'll feel better in a few days, just in time for the GOTV countdown prior to election day. Assuming it's just a bad cold or mild flu that you have, I hope it's nothing worse than that. Get well soon. :hi:

7. Phone. But wipe down your phone with disinfectant when you're done.
People will be impressed to get a call from someone sick.
