Attention DU High School Students and Teachers! Please Vote!
I know that you're out there! I received this "mock election" information in my on-line newsletter from my alma mater, a private high school in Massachusetts, which boasts an international community. They hold a "mock election," just before every presidential election, and say that they have been the accurate predictor of the winning candidate since 1988. I think this is important, since schools from across the country will be participating, and, also, that our informed students on DU, of which there are so many, could use this as a way to influence the impending election. And this is a way for you to cast your vote if you're under 18!

If you have questions, ask them or PM me. The "mock election" will take place on 10/28, very close to the U.S. election. I will post this, again, if I need to. Thanks to everyone who participates. I can't; I graduated, LOL!

Get out the VOTES

Every presidential election year, NMH becomes a political hotbed, making news in such media outlets as USA Today, the Christian Science Monitor, and NPR. Why? Because in 1988, NMH developed a unique mock election called VOTES (Voting Opportunities for Teenagers in Every State), in which high school students nationwide cast their ballots just prior to the presidential election in November. This November the VOTES project will take on the Bush-Kerry race—stay tuned by visiting

2. That's an excellent point! I don't know!
I think of Gore as the winner, and correct anybody who says "if Bush* is re-elected," since he was selected. I'll try to find out. Thanks for pointing this out!:-)

3. They voted for Bush* in 2000, 46%, to 37% for Gore
Should I challenge them on their boast on having predicted the winner since 1988, since Bush* was "selected" by the Supreme Court?

so as many DUers see this and sign up, as possible. Any kicks, even if you've already signed up, are appreciated.:-)
