What I'll be Watching For Election Night.

I'll be watching to see how Kerry does in NH and NJ. If Kerry loses NH, and if it's uncomfortably close in NJ, I'm going to bed early.

1. Once the polls close

Once the polls close and there is nothing left to do -- I am going to do something I NEVER do -- I am going to NOT watch the news. I will either go out to a movie or watch a rented one -- and then check in on the Internet at midnight or so and hope for a blast of refreshing news.

I don't think my poor heart can take the silliness.

2. Bush very narrowly won NH in 2000

But Gore still won the popular vote. Don't go to bed early.

3. OH and FL are some of the first to report. I will be watching them.

Virginia is in the second groups of states to report also. If Bush does not win Virginia by more than 4 points or if Kerry somehow wins it, the night is over.

4. OH, PA, FL

in the EST timezone. If Kerry is even near 200 by the time it reaches the Mississippi, open the champagne. 55 EVs from CA, so whatever the total is in the East, tack on 55 EVs...

I couldnt sleep a flippin WINK! Bed???? Ill see that sometime on November 3rd, 4th, 5th.....
