I am finding out that people I have known and worked with for years are racists, hate mongers, imperialists, theocratic isolationists, fascists and just plain old meanies. On top of that I have realized that I am surrounded in this country by corruption, manipulation, corporate evil, deeply rooted apathy and careening narcissism.

But it's all good.

We will win this election. we will work together to popularize the idea that government can be caring and thoughtful without being weak or pandering. We will work together to bring about a theater of discourse and wisdom. We will reach out to those who have been manipulated by their leaders and help them find their good intentions.

The polls are wrong. Everywhere we can all see and feel the change in the air. Have you ever seen this much drive for change? There are groups of newly registered voters, angry youth, the technologically astute, frustrated retirees and true Americans; all ready to make a stealthy run for the polls; the pollsters and pundits will forever be branded incapable of understanding America and Americans.

Our country has changed, I can see it. We will reverse the reversal of progress that has gripped us for the last four years. We will prove to the world that we are not lost. This is our opportunity to do something good for the world. On November 2nd let's make a change...Kerry in a landslide."

Yesterday I called people in OH, MN, NM and one or two other states getting canvass volunteers.

Thanks so much to those of you in red states who are working for those of us in swing states. We swing state volunteers are working our butts off and getting mighty tired but we keep going. We all appreciate your help. A few weeks ago someone from New York called us in WI to encourage us to man the phone banks and go door to door. We had a great turnout thanks to him and other like him. We've had Valerie Harper and Carole King come and make appearances at house parties on behalf of Kerry. People like you put the wind beneath our wings. Thanks again.
