We know the 'wolf' ad is flawed. What are those flaws?
As the case on just about everything else the Bush/Cheney campaign has been spewing out, the "wolf" ad likely has more holes than a block of Swiss cheese. I'd like to know where.

The $6 billion cut in the intelligence budget mentioned in the ad--did the Democrats initiate this cut? Or, were they voting along with the Republican congressional leadership's budget plan?

What percentage of the total intelligence budget does that $6 billion represent?

Is the $6 billion similar to the $83 billion Iraq package the Repukes keep hanging on John Kerry? The Democrats supported the funding in principle, but disagreed on how it would be funded?

I would appreciate any answers and sources given.

3. Just from a purely esthetic point of view
since numbers don't mean much to undecideds (or else they would've made a decision by now)...

The wolves look like dogs frolicking in the woods, hardly menacing at all. Especially for people who have dogs or love animals- which is A LOT of people.

The ad looks like an ad for the Sierra Club, hardly pro-Bush. Or maybe like an SUV ad or a beer ad.

8. i had the same thought..
the colors of the forest a very soothing, and it's almost like they filmed the wolves through a soft filter. If they wanted to frighten people, it should have been done in B&W, with the wolves chasing down their prey on some barren, snow covered prairie. Not too swift, these people. :eyes:

4. When I see those wolves, I think of GOP goons at battleground polling pla
Honestly, it was the first thing to pop into my brain!

Those wolves are the GOP thugs ready to rip apart Americans exercising their most basic American right.

The wolves are circling, and our democracy is their prey.

5. The issue isn't if it is flawed.
The issue is, is it effective. I didn't get it but I'm wondering if it resounds with the uninformed/undecideds?

11. I didn't find the wolves threatening at all, just beautiful.
Half of a CNN focus group audience laughed at the ad, I've been told.

6. It conveys a subliminal message...
...that the voters are "sheep", thus demonstrating the Bushtistas fundamental disrespect for their supporters.

12. Facts, schmacks! It was a horrendous ad that ate up the GOP bucks
Damn, that was one cute bunch of doggies, wouldn't you say?

If they had just used a snarling wolf, showing those big bad teeth, it might have worked. The cutesy, almost LoTR video, swallowed the threatening aspect of a wolf pack, made them seem like just a happy bunch of puppies.

Wolves are serious business, but there is hardly a fear-the-wolf tradition here like you'd find in Europe.

WOuldn't it be funny if the thinking behind that ad came from France?

Wonder what Rove'll be doing for a job in January.

Maybe he can punch cows in Texas on Bush's ranch?

Is it true Bush bought that ranch in 1999?
