2. tied at 46-46
The poll of 1,008 registered voters, including 880 likely voters—conducted Thursday and Friday—finds President Bush’s lead in last week’s NEWSWEEK poll has evaporated.

Among likely voters, the Bush-Cheney ticket leads 48 percent to 46 percent for Kerry-Edwards, with 1 percent for Nader-Camejo and 5 percent undecided. In last week’s poll (Oct. 14-15), Bush-Cheney led 48 percent to 46 percent among registered voters, and 50 percent to 44 among likely voters.

This week’s poll cuts the president’s lead among likely voters by more than half.

4. Time and Newsweek flip flopped
Last week Newsweek had Bush up and Time had it tied.

Glad to see this none the less, means the dynamics of the race haven't changed much. Bush is still under 48% and the undecideds are leaning Kerry.

Because of turnout, new voters and undersampling of minorities - I am convinced that if Kerry is within 3-4 points, he wins.

6. Possibly the most important stat I've seen this polling season
Edited on Sat Oct-23-04 11:39 AM by featherman
is from this Newsweek poll:

In the new poll, fully 77 percent of Kerry voters say Nov. 2 is the “single most important election” of their lifetime (37 percent), or more important than most other elections (40 percent). In comparison, 27 percent of Bush supporters view this as the single most important election of their lifetime, while 35 percent view it as more important than most other elections.

Is this an indication of DEM edge in likely turnout or what?
