1. I knew there was a reason I subscribe to that paper.
Way to go Sun-Times.

2. That is good news.
I thought somebody posted yesterday that the Sun-Times is right wing? Is that true? And does it normally endorse the Rethug candidate?

5. it is right wing and the tribune is much more fair yet they endorsed chimp
but it probably has more to do with them always endorsing a republican. but their actual reporting is far better than sun times.

6. It has been very right wing in the recent past however. . .
. . .I think the management shake-up (Richard Pearl was on the board of directors) may spell a new era. However they still publish Mark Styn, George Will, Betsy Hart and cartoons by Higgin so they will still piss us off on occassion.

7. NO, the Sun-Times is owned by Right wingers
But is has a long rep of being the blue collar paper of Chicago. The new ownership is a very new thing, and they've been trying to move the paper toward a more white collar crowd. (Their ad campaign here is "The Sun-Times is 'brighter'" and has a picture of some guy who looks like they stole him from a WSJ ad)

But I guess old habits die hard eh?

9. The Sun -Times is not right wing. O'Reillys' column is published there,
but that's because the Sun Times has always had a token righty.
It's actually a fair and balanced paper.

3. Kerry will take Chicago and all of IL by a landslide.
Bush doesn't even come here unless he's picking up a check from the fatcat repub swine here. He knows he might not make it out alive.

10. Holy shit....I don't believe it.
The Sun-Times...owned at one time by Rupert Murdoch and Conrad Black. The Sun-Times..the reliably right wing (the Sun-Times carries Novakula's column) Sun-Times...endorsing KERRY?

Incredible. I never dreamed that they would do it.

I may have to reassess my feelings about the Sun-Times. :-)

13. Possibly. Kerry will win Chicago huge...and Illinois by a wide margin.
I never, for one minute, bought any "the Illinois race is tighenting up" talk on places like electoral-vote.com. Bush never had a chance in this state.

16. OMG! I was expecting the Trib to endorse Kerry and when they endorsed the
chimp, I was FLOORED! If it was up to me, I would have canceled the subscription, but hubby devours that paper and just can't live without it. :( This is GREAT news! I wonder how Novak feels about it? :7

17. this is shoking
I just got done reprimanding the Tribune for its journalistic recklessness and lack of responsibility. Its great that I won't have to do it again.

No one should believe, "oh, we're closing in on Kerry in Illinois." MY ASS. There is no way. Think about it. Anersonville, Lakeview, Rogers Park, Edgewater, and Ukranian Village may have more people than the entire state of South Dakota!!!!!!!! These districts are HEAVILY Democratic. I take the train through these places and all i see is a deep ravenous need to destroy Bushy. I think the Tribune lost a lot of subscribers and because the Sun-Times endorsed Kerry, they have only to gain.

19. No way! This highlights the Trib's shameful endorsement of Bush...
lame excuses and Republican tradition, notwithstanding. In an hour of national peril, the Trib, just like W, chose to go AWOL --
