1. Lemme take a wild guess.
Nice prop. I wonder if Shrub sits in the back with a toy joystick and pretends he's the pilot...wearing his 'copter flight suit, of course.

8. Why don't they just dangle him
and let his puppetmasters hold the lines?

I hope someone is looking into taxpayer dollars being spent for his little photo ops and stunts.

I guess the safety of the crowd doesn't bother him. If the Kerry campaign pulled this stunt you'd never hear the end of it. The FAA, NTSB, everyone would be all over them like stink on you-know-what.

9. This is the hardest Bush has worked in 4 years.
Running for re-election is hard work, its really hard. Specially when you've never held down a real job and are used to being on vacation 40% of the time.

10. If that's Marine One...we paid for it.
Edited on Sat Oct-23-04 01:11 PM by terrya
The taxpayers pay for the upkeep and use of Marine One and Air Force One...actually, the helicopters and 747's that serve as Marine One and Air Force One.

12. I was wondering the same thing on another thread
Bush is using Marine 1 for a prop, a backdrop. This is certainly just another example of how Bush abuses power.

13. was on our local last night
he was suppose to have it else where.but decided to do the helicopter bit...i

The rally was supposed to be held at the Joker Marchant Stadium but was moved to a nearby practice field.
***************************************************************
Local Republican leaders said the move will help the crowd, and the news media will get the dramatic effect of the president's helicopter landing behind a barricade next to the field.
******************************************************************
That means the Bush campaign and the city will have to bring in dozens of port-a-potties, cooling zones, tents and food and drink concessions.

Except for a few bleachers behind the president, most people will be standing in the sun for hours.
snip

The move to the practice field makes for a lot of extra work for the city.

snip

There are only about 2,000 parking spaces available, so the city is asking people to car pool. It will also be running shuttle busses from the First Baptist Church at the mall.

But everytime Bush pulls a stunt like this (IE Mission Accomplished) it doesn't hurt him.
