Senator Jim Bunning is officially nuts
Edited on Sat Oct-23-04 05:38 PM by Hokies_Against_Bush
It's official. Kentucky Senator Jim Bunning may now be officially declared a looney bird. Check out this article. He reads no newspapers and only watches Fox News yet says he is not "out of touch" with the voters. He has no knowledge about Kentucky soldiers refusing to go on a suicide mission in Iraq. That is understandable since it was not covered on Fox News:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Democrat Dan Mongiardo attacked U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning as "out of touch" on Friday, a day after Bunning said he hadn't heard of a recent national news story from Iraq involving a Kentucky soldier.

"The least we can expect from our U.S. Sen. is that he knows what's going on," Mongiardo, a state senator, said during a rally in front of a veteran's memorial in downtown Louisville.

Bunning's campaign did not immediately return a request Friday for comment on Mongiardo's statements.

In recent days Bunning has accused his opponent of spreading false rumors questioning the senator's mental competency, but also has sought to assure voters that he is sharp and healthy.

Answering a reporter's question Thursday, he said he doesn't read newspapers and wasn't aware that a group of Army reservists had made national headlines when they refused an order to transport supplies from an air base to a city north of Baghdad.

One of the reservists, 22-year-old Justin Rogers, is from Louisville.

"I don't know anything about that," Bunning said after a speech before a Rotary club meeting in downtown Louisville.

Told that the story was broadcast on the national news this week, Bunning said he didn't see the report on Fox News, his preferred news outlet.

"Let me explain something: I don't watch the national news, and I don't read the paper. I haven't done that for the last six weeks. I watch Fox News to get my information," he said.

When asked if that made him out of touch with recent events, Bunning calmly replied, "of course not."......

More Bunning is a fruit cake

1. Bunning was a damn fine pitcher at one time...saw him throw a...
...perfect game against the Mets in '64. He already knows that when the arm goes, you retire...now that the mind is obviously going (he was born in 1931 or '32)....

5. The hero of all the boys when I was in school
Jim Bunning as about as cool as you could get. All of us 7-year-olds thought so.

Sad to see not that he's just another Freeper, but a simpleton and an ignoramus.

7. He might have been a good pitcher at one time but -
he didn't have HOF numbers. He got in because he was a congressman.
He got to be a congressman because he was a baseball celebrity. He got to be a Senator because he was in the HOF. He's an idiot and someone that stupid should not be a U.S. Senator.

2. Is anyone going to use the "alzheimer's" word yet?
Judging from his behavior, that can't be dismissed.
