3. Because the last time the winner of the presidential election
and the winning team of the World Series came from the same state was 1972 (Richard Nixon and the Oakland Athletics), it was a landslide victory.

6. Because we could get some Christian Fundie votes out of it
Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 11:01 PM by rocknation
The Red Sox rose from the dead after three games to win the pennant AND the Series without losing. If they're willing to believe that Bush can heal with a hug, they can certainly believe that God has given them a sign that Kerry is His candidate!

10. Speaking of fundies..I read a quote
Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 11:10 PM by zidzi
by pat robertson today that will need to be shoved back in his face..when Kerry wins..

God told him that.. "bush will be re elected(sic) in a "blowout" because "the Lord has just blessed him and it doesn't make any difference what he does, good or bad."

I read that in "The Washington Spectator" Feb 2004..

:dem: 86 years! Go Red Sox! 86 bush! :dem:

8. That's why they call it sweet November
Baseball ends in October.

Another perfect season for me. I didn't watch a single half inning.

9. Because now EVERYONE can focus on the election.
I didn't care who won (not a baseball fan), just so long as it ended in 4. Now people looking for an edge-of-your-seat contest can direct their energies toward getting RID OF BUSH.

11. Because it shows if you BELIEVE it WILL HAPPEN!!!
The Kerry ad was great at the end of the game.

This is an omen if there ever was one. Unless your from Boston, maybe you cannot imagine how huge this is.

KERRY IS GOING TO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12. I'm not into baseball much, but I'm REALLY beginning to feel
like this is going to happen...that Kerry is going to win!

I can't explain it. I'm an optimistic pessimist (if there is such a thing :eyes:) but this sweep is somehow making me actually "feel" it!
