Now the Repukes Blame the Troops! (Guiliani on Today Show)
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 06:26 AM by djg21
I can't believe this. In defending Shrub on the Today Show, Guiliani just laid blame for not finding the 380 tons of explosives on the troops, "who may not have searched hard enough." This was part of a response to Matt Lauer's question about why Shrub doesn't simply admit that he made a mistake.

We need a transcript, and Kerry should pounce on this!

3. Those explosives are NOT "WMD"; the troops were ordered to find WMD
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 06:28 AM by LynnTheDem
And bush didn't bother giving orders to secure Iraq's 7 nuclear facilities either, until 2 months after Baghdad fell.

Troops do what they're ordered to do; NO ONE EVER gave them orders to search for explosives or any other non-"WMD".

bush also blamed the military for not requesting more troops...how stunningly sickening is THAT when the bastard fired General White and early-retired General Shinseki when they both said bushCartel were planning war with far too few troops.

bush campainged on bringing back RESPONSIBILITY and the BUCK STOPS with him. What total BULLSHIT.

And the rightwingnuts chant "SUPPORT THE TROOPS".

With "SUPPORT" like the rightwingnuts give, our troops do not need FOREIGN enemies; the rightwingnuts are enemy enough.

4. Excellent...
It's all going according to plan. We are seeing the real Bush in action.

Kerry needs to pound, pound and pound away at this... THEY'RE BLAMING THE TROOPS!

What are they saying, that American troops aren't performing adequately?

Where does the buck stop? Not with Bush!

Bush never takes responsibility! Now he has his spinners out in full force blaming our troops, who are dodging bullets as we speak, for Bush's incompetence.

Pound away, Kerry! Run an ad!

7. I'd like to say that this is unbelievable--but it's not. . .
these pukes won't ever take blame for anything, ever. And hell would freeze over before * ever admitted he was at fault for something. He's the kind of guy who farts and then tries to blame it on the dog. :grr:

5. Why is Giuliani an authority on FEDERAL issues like the military?
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 06:29 AM by Bullshot
And why does NBC give him that kind of credibility? This isn't the first time they've done this.

He was a mayor of a city, for crying out loud. He's never been elected to the U.S. House or Senate.

14. Giuliani is supposedly running for President in 2008
Giuliano is pathetic pond scum - just like Bush, he is taking one day in time and trying to ride that horse for the rest of his life. Somehow he got the idea that being in New York as Mayor on 9/11 immediately instilled in him the wisdom and ability to lead a country. Like Bush he is using a tragedy to further his own ambitions. Also, like Bush he let others do the work and he tries to take the credit. On 9/11 the police, firemen, citizens of New York, the passengers on those air planes, the workers at the Pentagon and all Americans pulled together to try and save people in peril and to fight a common enemy while Bush hopscotched all over America (after his deer in headlights moment) and Giuliani got his face on TV. Neither are heroes - just in the right place at the right time to milk it for all it is worth. Neither are worthy enough to lick the boots of anyone on that awful day. Enough, of both of them need to go back to being mindless, little people and leave the rest of us alone to rebuild this country.

Wonder if Giuliani realizes he just pissed off the military vote when those stupid comments?

12.  I was being facetious. The way this administration portrays
itself as supporting the troops while cutting their pay, refusing to provide body armor, etc.. is despicable especially as they are chicken hawks.

11. They'll keep spinning until they can make something stick.
First it was,"We didn't have enough troops to guard the weapons." Then it was, "The weapons were gone before they got there." Now it's, "Stupid lazy troops didn't do their job." They keep getting lamer and lamer.

13. I guess to hear the GOPers tell it, the bad apples at the torture...
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 06:58 AM by Hubert Flottz
chambers Rumbo had set up at each prison in Iraq and Afghanistan, have ruined the whole barrel now! Were the troops too busy beating and torturing those people, to find the explosives? Rudi gassed his own people too, like Saddam, when he was mayor of NY! It's true! Do a google search on "Rudi, West Nile", sometime!

17. "After these past three years, we need to rebuild a government based on
old-fashioned American values: duty, dignity, and responsibility."

Except to date bush has not accepted responsibility for ANYTHING.

Not for Iraq, not for lying about "WMD" and "imminent threat", not for rushing our troops to war short on items like ammo and rifles, not for the deficit, not for the economy, not for 911, not for Abu Ghraib and Gitmo and over a dozen other "American torture centers", not for Rumsfailed, not for Gen. "My god is bigger" Boykin, not for being the 1st "president" since Hoover to preside over a net job loss, not for the tens of thousands dead & wounded, not for the world hatred towards us because of his arrogance and ignorance.

Not for ANYTHING.
