Surprise: A warmer, fuzzier Dick Cheney
KISSIMMEE, Fla. - When a supporter asked recently about his post-campaign plans, Vice President Dick Cheney had a quick answer.

"Unpack and get some laundry done," he said, as wife, Lynne, laughed and clapped approvingly at his side.

The Cheneys probably don't spend much time at the vice presidential mansion separating their whites and colors. Even so, the remark drew big laughs from the crowd and helped burnish Cheney's image as a regular guy - an effort that's one of the more surprising turns of the 2004 presidential campaign.

Cheney, after all, is a Washington insider of 35 years - a former secretary of defense, congressman and White House chief of staff whose main sojourn outside government earned him tens of millions of dollars as CEO of Halliburton, a global oil-services company. His family home is in swank Jackson, Wyo. He speaks most easily in carefully modulated tones.

But this is the age of Oprah, when politicians must unveil more than position papers to connect with voters. And with the Democratic effort to demonize Cheney as a sinister man-behind-the-curtain pulling strings throughout the administration, it makes sense for the campaign to flesh out the public image of the usually reticent Cheney

2. This whole administration should be exiled.
Put them on Navy ships, like the "Man Without A Country" and never let them set foot in this nation again.

3. Here's a man so repulsive...
...that when he grudgingly says anything remotely "human", it becomes a "news event".

6. Not Bad For someone With $75 Million Salted Away In Offshore Shelters
Not that I think regular guys like him should get taxed - that's just base class warfare. I'm sure those revenues wouldn't have done much in Washington anyway.
