I just went off on a coworker.
I walked into the break room and they were talking politics.
Our newest employee had just asked a question, which I had not heard. Someone else said she should ask me since I knew all about all the candidates.
She asked me what Kerry had ever done. So I went through a quick list of his accomplishment's. She then asks why we never hear about his "plan" just that he has one.
I blew up! "Have you ever gone to his web site?" "No"
"Have you tried to go here him speak?" "No"
"Have you contacted the media & asked them to cover his speeches?" "No"
"Have you read his & Edwards book that outlines their plan in detail?" "No"
"Then maybe you need to do a little work."
Aaaaarrrrrrrrgggggg

3. Some people really are clueless - and make decisions based on...
...the little bit they hear from others. If this co-worker comes from a repug family, maybe he/she thinks Kerry never did anything becuause that what they hear.

6. GOOD FOR YOU TEAMMATE
Fuck the ignorant bastards. Obviously the fascist cunt has no desire to educate herself on politics in America, but I bet, by god, she's registered to vote. And if, according to her he hasn't done anything, than how the fuck can he flip flop? Please, urge her to march to the voting booth and vote against her own interests, and if she is of age, tell her this veteran urges her to enlist in the Army, right fucking now. Then she can see first hand WHAT GEORGE BUSH HAS DONE. Look em in the eye, poke em in the chest, kick em in the ass.

8. Still waiting to hear Buxh's "plan"
....Something besides "stay the course".
Or "freedom is on the march"

I think John Kerry is just too cerebral for some of these Bushbots... they respond to good ol' patriotic sound bites and slogans.

9. I won't even discuss it in the office Kuz I'd have to beat the crap out
of them I'm sure.

Don't bother. When they ask the dumb talking points questions they've already had the kool-aid.

On CNN @ one of the debates a young REthug for bush asked the same questions. When Paul Begala, In a moment of clarity actually answered the lil Thugs question. The kid looked like someone stole his trike...

I was crackin up

10. Okay, now that you've gone off
Follow up with print outs from the Kerry website and links to articles about Kerry's extensive record of public service. If you really need to, make some pointed comments about how unsurprising it is that the media haven't made prominent mention of any of this, preoccupied as they have been with whether or not Kerry bled sufficiently to earn every one of his three Purple Hearts.

Time is short until the election; don't feel bad about doing a little work for your new co-worker. Get her vote.

11. Patience...Your Dealing WIth Truly Ignorant People
Yes, it's frustrating that they don't know much about Kerry beyond the cartoon images they see on the tube or hear on hate radio. But some don't know better...and right now aren't sure what to think or feel.

I can see a lot of people in total denial...you can hit them with the facts and they're just so stuck in the lies of this regime they can't snap out of it. Someday soon some of these people will, including this person, and being tolerant and with an open ear will make a big different to the ultimate goal of eliminating this right wing propoganda machine that's polluted so many minds.

Cheers!

13. you should have heard me, Rainbowreflect
a bunch of my coworkers were going on about Iraq - "WE" should do this and "WE" should do that (carpet-bombing being a major theme) and I hollered at them WHAT IS THIS *WE* SHIT? NONE OF YOU HAVE SPENT ONE G.D. DAY IN THE MILITARY. Coming from a veteran, that shut them up very quickly.

14. winning hearts and minds? you should have been more diplomatic
more than likely she now thinks Dems are know-it-all asses and you may have reinforced the notion that Dems ARE elitists, next time try and give a more positive response and maybe download some information and print it so that she can BE informed, give her web addresses, IE MotherJones.com, ChristianScience Monitor, Factcheck.org......I've had the same problem at my workplace but I try to inform and educate those with questions and I've not lost a debate yet....even being outnumbered 7-1...not boasting, just trying to get the point across

16. Most people don't have time for more than just sound bites
They have to tune in to Surviver or South Park and just can't be bothered to actually learn about their country. It isn't going to change either.

18. Do what I've done. Take vacation between now and Nov 2.
Get away from ignorant people and just go help with GOTV. I know I would have exploded at anyone who didn't get it at this point, so I figured I'd take a few days off work and help.

I've already walked 1 precinct this morning and I'll be doing 1 more this evening, at least 2 on Friday and Monday, Tuesday will be phone calls.

The best way to keep peace and your job, just get he hell away from them.

20. I think that may be a little of why I've lost it.
I have been so busy, with meetings, phoning & trying to keep up on what is going on I'm exhausted.
I think of all the time & work so many people I know are putting in and I get really pissed at the people who cannot even take the time to do their own research on the candidates & the issues.
