Complaint About Curt Schilling's Comments?
You can contact an organization he is closely associated with, The Shade Foundation, here: judy@shadefoundation.org

Tell them how disappointed you are their spokesman would use a wonderful, non-partisan event, a Red Sox world championship, as a means to spin a political comment. It is so disappointing to us life-long Red Sox fans.

Good Morning America
At the end of a Good Morning America interview this morning he ended with "your welcome and tell everyone to vote and vote for Bush."

His wife was sitting next to him and gave a dirty look when he did it.

8. Don't be a hypocrit, if he had said vote for Kerry
we would be critisizing freepers for complaining.

So Schilling is a great pitcher, who happens to be an idiot.

End of Story

The Red Sox still won and that cannot be bad for Kerry.

4. I don't agree with him but he has a right to express his opinion
Therefore I have no complaint. I'll just listen to the boss and watch less baseball.

13. The Right whines and screams whenever someone voices an opinion.
Let's not be like them. People have a right to their opinions whether they're famous or unknown, Democrat or Republican.

No shitting, Dick Tracy
and we can use our first amendment rights to disagree.

Organizations and businesses want to use his positive image to further their cause.

Let them see the flip side.

He can say what he wants, but so can we.

10. Good thing he didn't say "Vote for Kerry"
In order to conform to your standards, we'd have to protest a guy who is on our side.

15. Its not his opinion....
He has a right to his opinion....what I object to is using a Red Sox championship to forward that agenda....MY RED SOX. Is it fair to the owners of the team (who are Kerry supporters) that a guy chosen by ABC this morning to be a spokesman for the Red Sox championship express these opinion in an interview that should have been about baseball?

Look, if he wants to go on stage and campaign with Dubya, that is fair game, just as Bruce has the right to campaign with Kerry. But an interview as a representative of the Red Sox the day after their first championship in 86 years is not the time and the place to do it. The interview was about baseball, the championship and the world series, not a political event.

It was wrong for Curt to use that forum to advance his opinion.

14. You know, he's just a pitcher.
He is allowed an opinion about the race, however questionable. This is not a big deal. Besides, getting all excited about it legitimizes him as a kind of pundit, anyway.

19. I'll give him a pass.
Know why? Because he's a big fundraiser for ALS. My mom died from that disease and I appreciate his support in finding a cure for this terrible killer.
