Kerry needs to demand that W repudiate Rudy's
despicable remarks blaming the troops for the missing explosives debacle . The Bushies have kept this story alive with their pathetic dissembling . Now that we have the pictures from the Minneapolis station as proof , we need to jam it up their lying asses .

1. Ooooh, that's good
He's got to admit the blunders have been his mistakes, OR allow the blame to rest with the troops.

He's either Commander in Chief or he's not. I'd love to hear Kerry press that!

18. exactly!
once you lay blame, your only option is to change who's to blame, because you can no longer deny that it's worthy of blame.

3. I don't want anybody to "repudiate" it.... I want everybody to bash the
shit out of it.... as Edwards did right away.

4. Rudy and George are hurting the troops!
How the HELL can they blame the troops for an error that he (Bush) made???

:grr:

6. of all the mistakes they made these last two days....
this is one of the worst..... roast 'em with it. Kerry/Edwards should push it in their faces at every opportunity.... first insisting that Rudy is W's "spokesman" and what he says, W believes.

20. Oh, it's easy
once you start blaming a few reservists for their torture policies, once you start blaming generals for not having enough troops on the ground, it gets easier and easier. This is why red states turn blue.

5. Why? To what end?
I'd rather watch Shrub continue to squirm and explain away his attempted "cover-up." The damage is done, and if Kerry says anything more, it will look like he's piling on! Kerry should stand back and let Shrub self-destruct.

10. Bush will not self-destruct . We need to learn from the Republicans
how to work the media . If we don't push it it will die with a whimper . There is no place for W to hide on this . We need to keep this prime example of the Bush failure to intelligently prosecute this unnecessary war in front of the American people .

He deserves nothing less.

14. The media has already been worked.
It is already in a frenzy, and quite clearly is pursuing this story vigorously.

You're absolutely right, Shrub cannot hide. He's already been caught with his dick in the wind! There are no further returns to be gained by having our candidate pump this. Let the media continue to do its job (albeit four years later -- but better late than never).

7. The Republicans use that trick all the time
They demand that people repudiate comments in order to try and associate the candidate with the comments that were made. I don't think Kerry should be making the demand, but other Democrats (especially ones who are veterans) should.

8. Rock, meet hard place.
He can't repudiate Rudy without accepting the responsibility himself, or at least putting it on the inner circle, which he is incapable of doing.

It's either betray himself or show how he really supports the troops.

12. You're right , of course . The benefit is having the national news
cover him as he struggles with repudiating Rudy or agreeing that the troops are to blame .

15. I heard on Air America this morning
that Rudy is saying the Kerry campaign took his words out of context. :eyes:

Of course, the most ridiculous thing about that is that his words are so clear and so damning that one wouldn't even need to take them out of context. He truly shit the bed on this one, and Shrub should most definitely be pressed on it.
